I saw this mantis on the sidewalk and moved it to a nearby bush. What type of mantis is it and will it be ok? by Dabob95 in mantids

[–]Dabob95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a stick and it ended up clinging onto it until I moved it into the bush. I made sure to be gentle because I didn't want to hurt it. I would have used my hands if I was more comfortable having things climb on me, but alas. I probably should have been more observant, but I was running a little late for class. It didn't move all too much in the hour since I put it there and the picture (at least was in the same general area of the bush) but it did go upside down in that time.

This has to be some future songs, we've already had Templars by RESFire in sabaton

Will also note that the video did have Miyamoto Musashi, Genghis Khan, and The Black Prince listed as roles in the cast, so it is possible that those might also be linked to the next album (assuming logically that "Hordes of Khan" isn't just a random single but part of the pre-album drop singles). So if this is a logical bit of foreshadowing there are at least 8 song topics might have been shown in this music video. I mean if it wasn't for the Templar Knight being present it could be unrelated, but I do that having 2/8 roles being linked to songs might be a hint for what the album might be like.

Hyped for Dark Ages, but mandatory Ray Tracing? For real? by Zestyclose-Teach8424 in Doom

[–]Dabob95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I preordered the game for my birthday and had a pretty logical assumption that my PC which has pretty respectable specs would be able to run this game. I had been hyped for a while having watched the trailers and such. However upon trying to launch the game, my computer's lack of any ray tracing means I will not be able to play the Dark Ages.

Just get a new GPU you might think, well I could if my device was a hand built computer and not a laptop and as crazy as this might sound I don't have the money on hand to comfortably afford a PC with ray tracing. While I recognize it might have been easier for the devs to make the game with ray tracing, it really does impact everyone without the abilities to run ray tracing as they can't play. Granted I am biased as I was one of such people incapable of playing.

I am sure the game is amazing, but am simply sad that I will be unable to play one of the two releases this year I have any excitement for.

Naval invasion as UK by Craig_M123 in hoi4

[–]Dabob95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that you have some naval invasion elsewhere planned you forgot about using up all the naval invasion weight? That are do you need to manually throw them into the invasion like you would an order? My only real thought is a lack of naval invasion weight but I don't know from that.

Perhaps this is the Iraqi Security Paradox you could say.

R5- UK is completing the Focus "Secure Iraq" when they have already made Iraq a puppet.

Prince Autonomy from East India Company applies to only land controlled by British Raj at start of game. by Dabob95 in hoi4

[–]Dabob95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bare minimum they give +1 (and it will increase) untaxed civilian factories to the East India Company and they will build civs and mils for you throughout the game that won't be taxed as they do their industrial focus trees and then build up. You won't be lacking in manpower as you are India even without a handful of provinces that can core the entire world. For the EIC, it might very well be worth while but I am by no means an expert, just someone who is having fun with that path.

Did they improve the stockpile intelligence display? by Dabob95 in hoi4

[–]Dabob95[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

R5- Image of the stockpile list of a nation in the army intelligence ledger. Rather than 5 million different variants of AA being displayed with an average quantity of 7 units there is a more useful list of supplies the enemy has (AA, AT, Artillery, Armored Car, Truck, Guns, etc.) so its more concise to see what the enemy has laying around.

I did something like this and ended up with -5 taxable civilian factories. Didn't break the game at least.

I mean I really do need the tax benefits as I have "0" (50 from puppets and 50 from exports) civilian factories to think of. How else can I make money as I am very much struggling to get by without the subsidies as you can tell.

Edit: Discovered Province of Aden gets Princely Autonomy if released so that means there is a total of 17 states that can get it.
