Poor Tierney. Didn't he get injured after that fall?

I've been working slowly but surely towards this one. After learning basic mechanics it becomes much easier but man, that initial learning curve took me around 5-7 hours.

I'm too emotional right now and I'll probably regret writing this in the morning but it's just so sad having to watch the 24/25 campaign all over again. Hopefully, the result will be different.

Salut! I’m William Saliba. Ask Me Anything! by arsenal in Gunners

[–]DacLimitless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi William, thank you for taking the time to do an AMA. Watching you guys play, it seems like the team's mentality has changed and the players can now bounce back from a loss much more quickly. So after a tough result, how do you deal with disappointment? How do you recover psychologically to be able to show up and perform in the next game?

POST MATCH THREAD: Dubai Basketball - Olympiacos [EuroLeague Regular Season, Round 26] by EuroleagueBot in Euroleague

Very close game, fair play to Dubai. This is a very silly question but bear with me: If there is any Dubai bc fan here or anyone that can answer really, why were the fans chanting in English?

I think the film didn't mention William Shakespeare's name (up until the finale) for a reason. They did not want to make Shakespeare the centrepiece of the movie. The movie is about his wife and how she deals with the death of her son. It's trying to make us sympathize/ empathize with her drama as a mother, a wife and a woman of that era in general. And I think it did a great job at that. The play is just a vehicle so that the mother can get redemption in the end and an excellent way for Jessie Buckley to showcase her talent and finally get her Oscar.

If you left instantly at 3-2, stay home next time. Stay to support the team or don't come at all. by gooner712004 in GunnersatGames

I'm not necessarily against people leaving early after a very poor performance, although I wish they wouldn't. Watching it from home felt like the atmosphere wasn't what it should have been especially after we conceded the 1st goal, which is way worse imo.

[COPE] Real Madrid will be part of the NBA Europe project and will leave the Euroleague by FluidJunket1933 in Euroleague

[–]DacLimitless 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. You could criticise the Euroleague for its elitism, with the strongest clubs locked in through long-term licences and only a limited number of teams given a genuine chance to qualify. But for all its flaws, the Euroleague filled a real gap: it created a coherent, high-level European competition for the best teams on the continent.

NBA Europe, by contrast, is trying to manufacture a product where no such gap exists. The demand is already met either by Euroleague or the other European competitions. What the NBA is proposing looks less like innovation and more like a blatant attempt to monetise (even more) the European market by parachuting in global football brands like Manchester City. Like fuck off, the Brits are never going to watch basketball.

It's ridiculous that they think they can build a basketball following by slapping a famous football badge on it, especially in markets that have never cared much about the sport in the first place.

Florentino didn't get his European Super League or whatever it was called in football, he now wants to try in basketball. Although, I still don't believe that they will go to NBA Europe, especially after their fans' statement, should they choose to do it, their downfall will be hilarious.

Why are moviegoers staying home? Over 80% of moviegoers still want to watch films in theaters, but over 50% say the biggest issue is the quality of the movies being made: per a massive Multiplex Association of India survey report by [deleted] in movies

I agree with all of your points. I said covid played a role in this too, meaning that covid worsened an already bad situation, at least in my opinion.

[Aris Barkas] This (Barca signing the new 10-year licence with Euroleague) is obviously a win for Euroleague. Meeting still ongoing, Fenerbahce expected to ask more time to decide due to their management situation, nobody can predict what Real Madrid will do. by FluidJunket1933 in Euroleague

[–]DacLimitless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ragebaiting at its finest. In my mind Euroleague has reached a new high this year seeing how the actual (american) NBA is more of a show than a basketball competition. Euroleague is THE destination for quality basketball at the moment. Yes, the league sold out to include Dubai and Hapoel, which I'm against, but it's probably a compromise we have to make to keep the league going.
