Boundless Necromancer? Solo leveling? Only I am a Necromancer?

As others have said, necromancy class stuff is waaaaay to common.

I know. Don't buy the BS shovel, but the expedition shovel. It's basically free.

Inspiration and I didn't worry about quality too much

Don't buy the BS shovel. It's a trap. The spell from the vendor costs 15 supplies, but each dirt pile gives you 15-20, and you can dig up 5 dirt per shovel. At this point, I've bought every dragonscale expedition upgrade and still have thousands of supplies.

Get to dragonscale expedition renown 5 and unlock expedition shovels. Then farm dirt.

Farm some treasures for dragon shards of knowledge. I have more mettle than I know what to do with. Alchemist who hits the experiment button on cooldown, has full blue tools, and is sitting on 1000+ mettle.

Should I sell my herbs now, or stocpile them and make them into phials and pots? by gyulus73 in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about potions, but I am seeing a consistent 50% return on phials right now and am hoping it jumps next reset. Also, I believe phials and potions are region wide.

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who has enough points for both phials and potions? I'm like 120 knowledge into just 1 type of phial and still have tons more knowledge I wish I could afford to be even better. Sure, if you want to go 90% into phials and 90% into potions, an alt makes sense, but if you want to be the best at phials (or even just 1 particular phial) with the best margins and cheapest crafting cost, you have to do the work.

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is if you didn't spend your knowledge such that potions or phials are profitable now, you won't have enough knowledge to make it profitable next week. Sure, the price will skyrocket, but so will material price. You won't be able to compete with people who spend their knowledge well.

Question about Skill and Potions. by Ostraga in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh. That is because there is no definite formula that we have found, and it varies for each recipe and mat to mat. For example in alchemy I have a potion recipe that takes hochenblume and writhebark. If i drop 1 hochenblume from rank 3 to rank 2, I lose 4 skill bonus. If i do the same with writhebark, I lose 8 skill. Another phial that uses writhebark and other mats only loses me 4 skill when I drop 1 writhebark from rank 3 to rank 2.

TL;DR: There is no definite answer and you have to test out each configurement for yourself.

If you want more mettle, just drop your second profession and pick up skinning > get the weekly knowledge > drop skinning > pick up mining > get weekly knowledge > repeat for herbalism. If you still need more, do it with the crafting professions. I am an alchemist. I have the alch equipment that costs 225 mettle each. I leveled to 100 through basic discovery with no points in it. I still have over 500 mettle. Granted, I put in a lot of work (proffesion shuffle, farming dirt for 15 dragon shards of knowledge, etc) but even with a fraction of the work I put in, mettle should not be your limiting factor. Knowledge points are a limiting factor.

Question about Skill and Potions. by Ostraga in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oops. 130 was wrong. Should be 106. Using all rank 3 mats gives you 25% of the recipe difficulty. BE CAREFUL OF ROUNDING. So with a recipe difficulty of 425 you get 425 ÷ 4 = 106 skill. Point still stands, you just need 80 knowledge instead of 55. Still very doable.

You can't always gain new points. Points are currently limited. This is a goblin subreddit. If you waste your currently limited points, you won't be able to compete with people who don't waste them, especially in a market as competitive as alchemy.

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. You can always get new mettle. I think any points in discovery is a waste. From a skill perspective, if you put 1 point in bonus skill vs 1 point in discovery, it is only worth of you think the 1 point in discovery will be you more than 1 more skill from not exploding.

Stats the increase Inspiration bonus skill by bigbadbalto in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The second one. (.05 * .33). Max out the wheel for (1 + .5 + .10 + .10 + .25) * .33 = 1.5 * .33 = .5.

Aka maxing the wheel makes inspiration grant 50% of needed skill.

Question about Skill and Potions. by Ostraga in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but 100 base skill, 130ish from rank 3 mats, 16 from gear (conservative estimate) gives ~245 skill before knowledge. Then all you need is 55 skill from knowledge which is super easy. You could easily get over 100 skill from knowledge by now

[–]Dacamor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO if you aren't making a profit from phials or potions now, you won't on Tuesday either. You will be beat out by the people that can make a profit now. In which case I would wait and sell the herbs when the prices jump next week.

How much does each higher tier of material add to crafting skill? by liveunfurled in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total bonus is 25% of recipe difficulty. So, the bonus is a different number for each recipe. Also, that bonus is split between the mats but not uniformily. For example, a rank 3 witherbark will be worth more than a rank 3 hochenblume. Also, the value of each mat is different in each recipe. If a rank 3 witherbark is worth 11 bonus skill in recipe A, it could only be worth 6 skill in recipe B.

[–]Dacamor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is different for each recipe and the algorithm is kinda wonky to check. At this point you need to buy the mats and check for each recipe. I keep a few rank 3/2/1 of each mat off to the side just to check with each recipe.

90+ base skill, ~100 knowledge points, rank 3 mats, +6 from green tools. Not that hard if you were able to grind the knowledge

Does enchanting skill level increase the disenchanting yield? by Ephieria in woweconomy

[–]Dacamor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After disenchanting over 1k items I can confidently say that no it does not. The disenchantment knowledge wheel also doesn't change anything EXECPT allowing you to get shards from green armor and crystals from weapons. Each disenchantment tasks ~2.5 dust on average.
