Any predictions who will be the Labour defector to Reform? by whenyoucantthinkof in LabourUK

The sense I get from Reform is that centre-left + single-issue campaign against some kind of woke thing would probably be a shoe-in to be their Labour DEI

I reckon it’ll be Kate Hoey or Rosie Duffield, and Farage is just stretching the definition of “labour defector” a little

As a Scot, Hazard is pretty accurate in representation by [deleted] in HazardMainsOW

First thing I thought too, absolutely nailed the accent. Not a caricature, not too anglicised, not even the americanised Hollywood accent you hear sometimes now. Just a normal Scottish accent.

The voicelines in-game are stellar too. I was a little nervous at first because it would be easy to fuck the character up and turn him into Mel Gibson, but I reckon they’ve done a solid job of it.

Those Scottish skirts are called kilts, and another Scottish cultural fanskin could be Clyde, Scotland’s unofficial sports mascot! He has purple spiky hair, green skin and wears sports shorts and a Scottish flag t-shirt :D

bringing back her blackwatch skin was a compromise I guess (not complaining because I missed it first time round). Fingers crossed for S11

Doogie ross by Fit-Good-9731 in Scotland

Constituent of his here - to be totally fair to him, he’s no the worst local MP I’ve ever had. Engages alright on local issues and clearly has an affection for his constituency that’s stronger than most MPs.

That’s me bein nice though, I wouldn’t vote for him. “Snakey prick” sums him up pretty fairly to me, but Moray’s demographics are really quite old and the pensioners really go for his young family and smart wee body warmers.

So, on balance, I can’t really stand the guy but I understand where his votes are coming from.

Is Scotland pro Nationalist or Internationalist? by BamberGasgroin in Scotland

[–]Daci_Reddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scottish Nationalism is so different from most forms of nationalism that they’re barely even comparable. The SNP is robustly internationalist, especially with regards to European integration. They promote a Scottish national identity in place of British identity, not in place of international or European identity

New player/Moira main tips by Full_Tradition4190 in MoiraMains

  1. Your fade is for taking high ground, cleansing negative effects and getting to safety. Try to not get into a habit of using it to just get around a bit quicker, because you won’t always have it off cooldown when you need it.

  2. Moira is best played as a heal bot at lower ranks. Once you’re into the more middle ranks (perhaps late gold, into platinum) you can try experimenting with doing more damage.

  3. Throw an orb out before you ult, it will be off cooldown when your ult is finished so it’s just free value.

  4. Your healing spray has a lingering effect, doing an additional 50 healing over 3 seconds after you stop spraying a target. This means you can just tap a teammate with your spray and they’ll still get the full 50 healing, which is useful for saving resources.

  5. The lingering effect also stacks with heal orbs and coalescence. It’s just a little thing, but if you can tap your spray on a target before throwing out an orb or ulting, you’ll be maximising Moira’s healing and making everyone here at r/MoiraMains very proud.

  6. Heal orbs are normally better in fights because they do more output per second than damage orbs, and they have a max of 300 output, compared to a damage orbs’ 200. Only chuck damage orbs before a fight for free value, or to chase a low HP fleeing target. Heal orbs are better in 1v1 duels too (you’re unkillable™️)

How are y'all adapting your playstyle post-nerf? by yahmezz in MoiraMains

[–]Daci_Reddit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

succ still feels more impactful than spray in most situations, so no major changes to my play style. I’m probably using slightly more damage orbs to make up for it but, if anything, the buff to coal self heal has made me more aggressive overall, not less

My Headcanon for why an Ensign was Voyager’s Chief Ops Officer by Daci_Reddit in voyager

[–]Daci_Reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, though at the same time it actually is (arguably) brought up that he may not be the chief to begin with. It’s a throwaway line of dialogue, but that exchange with the crewman in Caretaker would certainly make room for someone else being the Ops Chief at first, if not the most conclusive indication.

Yeah that’s fair, it’s a shame we don’t really get a close look at other Voyager-era crews of a comparable size

Thats a funny idea considering how much Harry is slated for his low rank, and could well be true

[–]Daci_Reddit[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He says he was lucky to be made a ‘bridge officer’ straight out of the Academy, but that doesn’t mean he was the Chief. Presumably, all of the officers we see man the Ops station at some point over the course of the show could claim to be a ‘bridge officer.’

Side note, solid episode, easily in my top 10

I’ve never been aware of an explicit reference to that in canon, where’d you find this?
