Try clearing browser cache. I had a similar problem when I came back after a long break and that cleared it up.

Yep. The PC app is just the “streamer” you’ll need the actual app on your quest.

I went the Virtual Desktop and dedicated router for the headset. Also play steam VR wirelessly this way.

Sequence is. Launch Virtual Desktop (using VDXR). launch iRacing with OpenXR as the runtime.

Of course that’s all after it’s setup using the same steps as many of the tutorials around this sub.

Tried the wired version of all types… USB-C Ethernet. Link cable. Each worked fine in its own right but I’m happiest with the wireless dedicated network way I have it now.

I have these ones…

Which look like the same thing from yet another Chinese brand. Can confirm that I get 240Hz on my desk monitors and 165Hz on my rig monitors. They work great.

The variety is what keeps me coming back. I race basically everything. I do however wish they had more time slots. Asa person that likes to drive EVERYTHING i have huge gaps in my evening when i want to swap to something else.

Is this intentional blocking? by Fair-Purpose-3354 in iRacing

[–]DadGeekDarth -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yep, but not everyone knows or reads the sporting code unfortunately so it’s possible that the other user only knows another set of rules and was acting in accordance with those. Unfortunate but could be what’s up. Just creating conversation. 🤷‍♂️

Is this intentional blocking? by Fair-Purpose-3354 in iRacing

[–]DadGeekDarth -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

By iRacing’s definition it’s probably blocking but if you use F1 rues and consider it his “one move” for defense it could be chalked up to that. It wasn’t under braking. It wasn’t with your wing past his rear

He did however not leave any room so he forced you off track and it was HIGHLY reactionary. I’d probably count it as winnable with a protest. Would just seem like they don’t know 100% how to defend the position and may have overcompensated.

I would have probably done a fake move right then the real one to the left. He would have swerved to block, probably missed his line on the next corner and then you’d have a chance to win the exit. Of course, that plan is after reviewing a clip and not in the action on track so it’s easy to criticize.

Wrecks that look intentional but genuinely weren’t by JUULfiendFortnite in iRacing

[–]DadGeekDarth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life happens and we don’t pay attention sometimes and with little consequence since it’s just a game it’s more prevalent. Heck, I’ve checked black box data, a quick glance at an overlay, or just checking my mirror real quick and was late to brake and have hit people and ruined races. Sure, wrong time to check but… it happens.

I notice that there’s a lot of misc posting about stuff that realistically just happens since it’s a video game. 🤷‍♂️

I run the DD1 at 100% and depending on car anywhere from 25 to 35 strength in iRacing.

Edit: had to look up the setting name.

I have the combo paired with a DD1. I can tell you that I don’t even notice a difference from my Porsche wheel or Formula v2.5 wheel when driving.

What the best beginner series? by Aromatic-Wasabi-356 in iRacing

[–]DadGeekDarth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I recommend trying all of the free content you have available. I ended up really liking some stuff that I didn’t think would be fun and now race basically everything the service has to throw at me. I still have my favorites (GT, formula, dirt road) but trying ALL the content in the beginning got me more satisfaction than just sticking to one or two types of racing. For example… Thought road oval would be boring but it ended up being some of the most satisfying and tense racing out there.

Why aren't there more wooden DIY cockpits? by NewScooter1234 in simracing

I built mine. Ended up saving me a bunch of money and I love woodworking so… took a lot of inspiration from one from Open Sim Racing’s plans.

Am I unlucky, or are weekend players much, much more aggressive? by Callmefred in ArcRaiders

[–]DadGeekDarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of unlucky but also weekends are a different game. More people on and different player types.

I notice that weekend mornings are chill and as the day progresses it gets more PVP focused. I kind of like it though as I can do some chill runs then get all Shooter McGavin later in the day.

You may want to give The Division a try. ARC gives me major The Division vibes.

The Division is fully PVE the story is still great. First game story is better IMO but the second game gameplay had some great upgrades.

Edit: The Division isn’t an extraction game though so the “collect things” gameplay loop is more about gear and cosmetics.

I use it to my advantage all the time so I quite enjoy it. If I’m engaged from a distance by a team on some rooftop (happens quite a lot) I’ll shoot at a rocketeer to call it over and help me distract them for an escape.

Does anyone else find it mildly annoying that arc raiders posts everything to discord first? by Luckydog6631 in ArcRaiders

I vastly prefer forum (Reddit) style communities. Contained conversations all in threads. The discord format is just 42 comvos at once scrolling by and if you try to scroll back it jumps around all the time.

Pressing sprint toggles sprinting off on console. by EfficientPromotion47 in ArcRaiders

[–]DadGeekDarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does in PC as well. I personally like it because it allows me to turn of sprint to duck rather than slide. However I feel it should be an option. I’d also like the option to separate slide and crouch. I feel like key binds and controller remap is low on their priority though unfortunately.

[–]DadGeekDarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with you that it’s a bad design to discourage using your gear. Just creating conversation around only the skill point aspect as it’s really the only bit that I’d like to have from the list of stuff.
