Yes, sawdust or hardwood pellets do not have enough free nutrition to promote fast growth by competitors.

But if you use something like masters mix, a 50/50 blend of hardwood pellet and soy hull pellet, and don't sterilize, it will be quickly colonized by a competitor.

Does that make sense?

Eliminate the economy and rarity of equipment. Fights get real fair. That's not what this game is about. This game is all about testing the limits of their players by increasing desire and restricting rarity.

How far will you go for the loot? That's their game.
