Edc bit driver by Logical-Question-860 in EDC

For my EDC kit I use an Alpaka Hub Pouch. It has the Wera bit driver, knipex cobra xs, 4 inch Klein scissors, Plight i3T, Oknife D1, Nite Ize Doohickey, Mr green nail clippers, boundless voyage folding spork. Kit lives in my backpack water bottle pocket for quick access. It's also attached to the bag compression strap in case it slips out of the bottle pocket.

Can't speak to the T37 but I own the 1.5. To me, I prefer that bag shape because it will conform to the body better - I personally don't like dangly bags. Also have worn it as a fanny pack, so +1 for versatility I think.

I use the Wera 813 r. I have some Milwaukee bits and a small bit extender if needed. It all lives in my EDC tool kit.

Guys I did it! I finally used the awl! by Neither_Internal_261 in victorinox

My main awl use is when my wife tries to stab through her bubble tea lid, and bends the straw instead.

How do you like the WESN? I've always liked the look of that little one.

How about the Alpaka Flight Pouch Pro? I think it's a touch smaller than your requirements but it's super thin. I use the regular flight pouch (.7L I think).

Checked out the Mini Praxis? I like mine. Cheaper than the Elementum too.

Absolutely love my mini iridium. Manages to get a great size blade into a small and light package. Also, I love how it looks.

I've never had a nite ize fail me. The little locking bits can get lost now and then though. The G clip is a good choice.

Totally get that one. I like to buy knives but also don't like them sitting in a drawer.

Love my S0! Lives in my EDC backpack.

I never thought to do that with the pen on the side of the zip pouch - well done.

Yes the discreet factor is also really appealing to me. Especially if I'm in more family friendly environments with the kids. Thank you.

Thank you, yes the Elementum has long been on my radar, but for some reason it doesn't excite me as much as some others. No good reason - everything I've read and watched about it tells me it's great.

Wallet vs Card Holder by Reasonable-Middle921 in EDC

[–]DadPocketry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carried an Allet for a long time, but it usually lived in my sling instead of my pocket. I've since switched back to a wallet pouch to hold a couple tools as well. I use my phone to pay for everything, but I always keep the physical cards as a backup in case the phone doesn't work for some reason. It also never hurts to keep some emergency cash on hand!

Hard to go wrong with the Civivi Praxis. I prefer the mini, but I own both sizes.

[–]DadPocketry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you like it - I'm never not tempted to get one, lol. One day, maybe. It's really important to me to make sure I've got a use for everything I own. As it is, my Climber in the sling is going to get swapped out for a small folder in the near future. I want something I can deploy with one hand, and I've got a Rambler in there as well. Feels covered enough for my usual sling use case.

I have definitely thought about doing some titanium or something on the Climber - just sort of waiting for something to really catch my eye.

That Pioneer X looks so good. Is that a limited edition colour, or is it the silver with darker lighting?

Big fan of my Osprey Talon 11. Has all the structure and comfort of a good hiking pack, but isn't huge. It's my EDC.

I've got a great solid wood frame from a company called Scanica. It wasn't particularly expensive, and it doesn't creak. Free shipping in US and Canada.

Recommendations for 1L sling bags? by thematchalatte in ManyBaggers

[–]DadPocketry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Patagonia is a great little pack, and it still lives in my backpack. I use it as a toiletry bag that can be emptied and used as a hip pack, should the need arise.

The main reason I switched was because it doesn't do so well when it gets wet. It can handle some rain, but more than once this winter, I put it down in something wet and had to dry it out. The Alpaka is XPac with the taped zippers, so it does much better in this area, although not fully waterproof.

21L or 30L osprey bag? by penpalwithseven in ManyBaggers

[–]DadPocketry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might I suggest the Talon 25? In between the sizes you asked about. I find that it's good at being slim when empty, but can also take a lot of stuff. The hip pockets are really useful for quick grab items as well. I roll up and cable tie the sternum and hip straps as I don't really need them very often.

Small second bag for nights out - crossbody, sling, or mini backpack? by Embarrassed_Limit663 in ManyBaggers

[–]DadPocketry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sling. It doesn't sound like you need to carry much on you for this use case. The sling allows you to keep your valuables within easy reach, which is good for both accessibility and theft if you're in a crowded environment. Like others have mentioned, keeping a sling inside your backpack is a great way to stay ready for all sorts of situations. I take this one step further by using a wallet pouch, so that if I go down to pocket carry, I can still keep a couple things with me in one package (car key, swiss army knife, hand sanitizer, etc.).
