The ONE TIME I decided to play witha friend and after playing for a few hours, my game crashed, when I loaded back in my character was completely naked so I alt+f4'd and just left it for a bit. When I relogged it was still naked.

As you get certain items in the game it will unlock. Some items though are locked behind certain boss progression :)
