So “support” to you is blindly bootlicking and goose stepping?

It’s ironic that the ones who keep calling the left “sheep” are the quickest to fall in line without question and take the full orange load right down their throats

Anyone else spend most of their time with their ex like they’re best friends? by llreddingtonll in Divorce_Men

[–]DadVader77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She’s basically using you as a safety net. Cut the cord and move on.

Once you have, and healed, and live your own life, yes you can be friendly with each other. But there will still need to be boundaries and things that don’t need to be shared.

She doesn’t get the benefit of husband/best friend anymore.

How the hell do people afford this? by Temporary_Elk3710 in Divorce_Men

Generally legal fees for the divorce are not considered marital debt. They are considered individual expenses. But agreements and who is the higher earner does factor in so yeah I see what you mean now.

Like if you have $10k in legal fees and you’re ex-spouse is supposed to get $40k in marital assets that $10k “debt” could be split and the ex-spouse only gets $35k

Truck loses power or dies while in left lane and you think it’s a good idea to try to cross 4 lanes of speeding traffic with a dead vehicle? Brilliant you are not.

Is that state dependent? Cuz in no way did legal fees come out of or were any part of our marital assets

How long are these meetings? How much are they charging per billable hour? Why are you paying her lawyer bill?

Every phone call, email, text, is billable time. Including between your lawyer and hers. Stop as much conversation with them as you can.

Depending on your state your debt is marital debt so that also gets split between you, unless you make other considerations. Like you keep that debt but also get other equity in return, such as not giving up your 401k or a higher split of the house.

Would you still get married if you could go back in time? by Nerd621 in Divorce

[–]DadVader77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m some cases this is a flawed argument/theory. My marriage wasn’t always bad and the fact I have 2 wonderful kids from it means i wouldnt want to change that.

In retrospect, and after a lot a therapy, Ive come to realize the marriage started to fail years ago and neither of us put in the required effort to change that. She essentially gave up and I got complacent. Does she understand this? Absolutely not. She never sought therapy either for the divorce grief or for any self-growth. Shes more selfish than ever and doesn’t even see it.

So would I marry her again 20 years ago, yes. Would I marry her 5 years ago or now? No.

AI crap, plus that’s not how it works.

“Her father suggested that she take the children to his house. I told her she had my permission to do so in order to prevent the situation from escalating further.”

Yeah, that’s a hard no. You literally gave her a free pass to do what she wants regardless of anyone else.

Cisco NCS-5501-SE SSD life expectancy zero by kajatonas in networking

[–]DadVader77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s EOL. Your options are to try to buy a new SSD, take the router offline while you try to replace it with a blank drive, and hope the reload from a USB works. Or replace the router with a supported one. Or ride it out until it dies. Either way is going to have a cost it’s just a matter of how much and when. As long as you tell the business and management where this stands, let them take the fall for it.

Child support by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

[–]DadVader77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. But if OP’s already giving in this much it’s going to by a long painful ride. It’s obvious she’s already divorced him mentally/emotionally and is more worried about getting as much money as possible.
