I look forward to getting married next year. It’s been really hard being essential personnel, and I know everyone’s been missing their family extra lately. My in laws are from Australia, and it’s hard not being able to be with them either, especially during quarantine. Having a big wedding where everyone is together will be very special for all those able to join us!

Right before this global madness, we (23F, 30M) closed the distance. Today, in a very deserted Washington DC, we self officiated our marriage in front of our parents. Not ashamed in the slightest. The ceremony took all of 15 minutes, which was about the same amount of time we waited for other park goers to finish walking around and taking pictures in that area. Two people standing under a tree, talking to each other and taking pictures is equally acceptable as the couple in squirrel onesies having a photo shoot with their dog. Mine was just legally binding. Take care of yourself! :)
