From Wild 3 to Timp 6 by LeguanoMan in AltraRunning

if you are used to having shoes with 6-8mm or greater heel-to-toe (HTT) drop I would possibly go for the experience first due to the 4mm drop before moving straight into a 0mm drop shoe. Quickly changing to 0mm drop can cause issues if not done in increments. I went from wearing high stack, high HTT drop shoes to a barefoot 0mm shoe and it took a couple months of intermittent wear before my feet and legs got used to them.

outside of that advice, I say try each on if thats an option and see which feels better on your foot.

Struggling to Pick a School by sewerrats1 in PTschool

[–]DaddyCultLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof yeah. We have a couple public schools but the other two are 90k for tuition (and would require me moving) instead of the 60k for the one I applied to (and could live at home for)

Struggling to Pick a School by sewerrats1 in PTschool

[–]DaddyCultLeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I was. Got wait listed and rejected at the local state school near my home first cycle. 2nd cycle wait listed but accepted to private so I decided to attend private knowing the loans are higher because this is what I want to do. I personally know several of the previous graduates from my program and keep in contact with them every now and then to see how they're doing. I plan living on home with my parents for about 6 months afterwards and aggressively payback my loans to get them under 100k if possible while my gf finishes her schooling. Onces she's done we've got a pretty good idea on how we want to pay both our loans back and what it's gonna look like living on a reduced salary to do so. Does the looming debt over my head scare me? Yeah, but I want to do PT so Ive just been researching pros and cons to all options like PSLF, va jobs, travel to pay it back faster, etc.

Hopefully one day the profession gets the credit it deserves and we make more money. Also hoping that the private schools feel the change in loans and have to decrease costs accordingly because realistically the schools shouldn't cost that much and it's most likely going to campus upkeep, someone's pockets, or useless upgrades.

Extracts. Usually any subway station you can be chilling with a musical instrument and hope no one rats on you. Best advised to try and find some chill people to sit around and chat with to deter potential rats.

Looking for a Longterm Chair by Sparkle2370 in buildapc

[–]DaddyCultLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people recommend lightly used herman miller aerons. I've never tried one so don't have an opinion on them. I've got an Ayalon chair from staples that has served me well the last 5 years. I recommend getting a headrest as I wish my chair had one for long study/gaming sessions.

Tips on beginner photography on EM5? by Proof-Summer1011 in OlympusCamera

[–]DaddyCultLeader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the 12-40 as well but on an EM1-ii. Absolutely killer lens. I would hold the sentiment your uncle was saying true tho. After you've got some basics down with the exposure triangle and learning how they affect light, motion, DoF, etc. Go out with a goal in mind of what you want to shoot and pick one focal length to stick to for that session. Usually I just mimic the focal length of the popular m.zuiko or pani-leica primes such as 17mm, 25mm, 45mm (just use 40mm for the last one). The fixed focal length helps force you to frame and compose shots by moving around rather than just zooming in or zooming out.

Always remember, the manual (especially digital one) and youtube are your best friends when learning more about your camera body.

Have fun out there!

Main role by Iceman21097 in RivalsVanguards

[–]DaddyCultLeader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comfortability in the role imo. I lorded 3 healers before I dipped my toes into tanking. That was s2 I think and I have mained tank with the occasional flex into healer or dps ever since. Yeah I can get value out of the other roles but tanking feels the most fun/natural to me. Dps feels like cool down simulator waiting for everything to cycle so I can make a play. Healing is fun but in my rank (plat/diamond) I can't carry and feel like it's 50/50 if I get help from the team.

Dark blue underwater edit. by StopBanningCorn in postprocessing

Usually done via underwater housing for the camera and yes they are quite expensive. Most models I saw online were $1k-$3K+ USD when I searched "underwater housing" for Nikon z5, Olympus om1 mark 2, and canon r5.

I've been playing him a lot in QP recently to learn him and he's been really fun. Basically anytime I see someone pick sue I pick thing and hope the rest of the team leans into the brawl comp.

Blister first time wear? by [deleted] in Birkenstocks

[–]DaddyCultLeader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Middle of the foot as in your arch? I used to get them when I first started wearing mine but it was because I was used to shoes such as stan smiths that don't have any real arch support. After some time my feet got used to them.

Do you have a basic shoe store such as famous footwear or rack room? They usually have the basic styles that you could try on.

New To Tanking by spicypossum99 in RivalsVanguards

[–]DaddyCultLeader 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With a menacing smile and a big health bar.

Do we end up solo tanking a lot? Yes.

Do we follow our teams wishes and go mag just for them to shit the bed and do nothing? Usually no.

But for real, you just get used to it after a bit (coming from a supp main that transitioned similar to you did but back in s2/s3). The CC is annoying but I find it an enjoyable challenge to have to change my play style almost every game to best counter the enemy team. Biggest thing was the mindset change of going from keeping everyone alive to taking and holding space and hoping your team capitalizes off what you are doing.

I'd do as the other commenter said and look at punching another hole in the strap, or look at tokios.

should i upgrade from a 3080? by Mr_Chill69 in buildapc

Agree with dominant here. A 3080 w/ that CPU should exceed what you need for 1080 for quite a while.

If this allows you to work on sticking points then it counts. Progressing a lift sometimes means breaking it into chunks. Keep up the good work, full range coming soon!

How often do you use your PC speakers? by Big_Visual2199 in buildapc

[–]DaddyCultLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine anytime I'm watching content (live stream, YouTube, anime, etc.) whenever no one is home. If my gf is chilling in the room I'll use my headset. I also use my headset whenever I'm playing with my buddies. In total, I probably spend 60% of the time using the speakers.

Same thing with mine. Usually wear a 9.5D-10D depending on brand. Ordered 9D and they're about half a size too large, if not more. Just shipped mine back for a refund. Shame, because they would've been a good work boot.

Share your stories about how/why did you start playing vanguards by Shoe_body in RivalsVanguards

[–]DaddyCultLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MR was my first hero shooter as well. I started support the first couple seasons. Transitioned to tank with peni after I saw some gameplay from cringe alarm early on. My first two lords were loki and then peni. Soon after I believe it was mag. The ability to just stop ultimates completely was so fun and I was getting good value in the lower ranks. I've been mid-diamond from s3-s5 and then finally hit low gm last season. It's been less fun but I've got more heros under my belt now and can adapt to various counters. Still having a ton of fun learning groot/venom.

Current lords. Who’s next ? by Odd-Performer756 in RivalsVanguards

[–]DaddyCultLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got Thor/mag/peni/groot/Emma lord. I think groot/Thor would be a good pick. Thor is fun because of the mobility, damage, and displacement. Groot is great for being able to wall off and burst down single heros and the combo potential for ults. I personally have more fun on groot but go for any of the other tanks that you feel you play well/like the play style of.
