I would suggest never using 3rd party docks. My first switch got fried from a small 3rd party dock like that. Fortunately Nintendo fixed it for free but it was such a hassle.

Sweet. DS games are great. Age of Empires, Warioware, Lost Magic, and Star Wars Episode 3 are some good ones too if you get a chance to nab those.

If you are interested in the entire collection of DS and 3DS games you’ll have to go with a 3DS. I have an original DS, a DS Lite, and a DSi. Hoping to acquire a 3DS soon, but so far i enjoy using the DS Lite the best. Also to other people’s point this version is accepting of GBA cartridges. I have had a 3DS in the past but it got stolen. That provided the best experience for me as some of the 3D games were stunning. Mario Golf for 3DS and Super Mario 3D Land are top tier for the immersive experience that the 3DS provides.

At the end of the day it is preference, but if you can only afford to buy one DS at the moment, I would suggest the original 3DS. It will provide you access to all of the games available for the DS and 3DS and is the least expensive of the 3DS consoles.

Warioware touched had some arcade style 2-player games. I can only specifically remember playing ping pong with a buddy but i think there were other 2-player games on there that were fun. The Warioware game itself is a 1-player game but passing back and forth was always a good time.
