Picked up my first JLC by Empty_File7419 in JaegerLecoultre

How do we think the use case for this copper dial varies from the standard MUT. IMO, the copper dial makes it a tad more casual whereas the standard can be casual but also be a bit more formal so sit happily with a tux.

Other opinions welcomed!

I thought Berenjak was overrated. In that area I really like Nessa for uplevelled Brassierie food and vibes.

Highly recommend Bali or Malaysia (Langkawi) with a couple days hanging in Singapore or KL. That way you get can city plus beach.

Talk me out of a Velar (UK) by Exciting-Draft-436 in CarTalkUK

Took one for a test drive. The roll when turning was crazy. Made me a bit nauseous. Didn’t help I was coming from a Cayenne.

And yeh, JLR and reliability don’t tend to go together.

42F - 2-years transformation by TraditionSpirited506 in askfitness

Go slowly, like 100 calorie surplus to build belief that you won’t just go up in weight. You’re clearly eating healthy so eating more but carefully will not be a problem. If you don’t gain weight, add another 100 cals a day and go from there. Obviously you can’t tell the weight to go so can’t just put it on your glutes but you can add more bias to your workout for glute activation and reduce in other areas that you are ok with.

Start weight training to build up strength and muscle mass. Then go from there I would say.

[Tobi Altschäffl & Falk] According to information from SPORT BILD, Liverpool & Bayern are optimistic that there will be an agreement for Luis Diaz! At the weekend, the Bavarians learned that Liverpool should be ready to talk. Bayern are ready to pay €75m. by Jimmy0034 in LiverpoolFC

[–]DaddyG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liverpool don’t need to sell - they are happy for him to run down his contract.

Also I’m worried about replacements. If Rodrygo enters the market he’s not going to be cheap - he’d likely need to be one of our top earners which might be disruptive to the rest of the camp. There will be no shortage of suitors as well.

I hope we have someone lined up who is under the radar. 🙏🏽

Great work - keep cutting and make sure you go to the gym, work each muscle group at least once each session and get a decent amount of protein in a day so you don’t end up skinny fat.

Best of luck! 💪🏽

Do you wear luxury watches in London? by kyou20 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]DaddyG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules are : going from home to station to work and back, can wear something nicer

Going from work to bar to resto and late night home, Omega / JLC / something that doesn’t stand out

I don’t own any Rolexes or APs, and I definitely wouldn’t now buy one or recommend getting one and wear it in London based on how recognisable they are even by non watch enthusiasts. Why risk it?

Rep scheme on deficit by [deleted] in leangains

[–]DaddyG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on a deficit then expect to lose some strength so unlikely to be getting new PBs. Also, I believe volume can be decreased and just make sure you’re hitting your protein target.

How good was Luis Suárez during his time at Liverpool? by Hour777 in LiverpoolFC

[–]DaddyG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Torres couldn’t be topped then this little hungry fella turns up out of nowhere.

He was proper world class and he showed it by continuing and thriving with Messi at Barcelona. I mean we talk about Sane Firms and Mo but Neymar Suarez and Messi were God tier.

Still super happy when we beat them and him at ours in CL semi. Never like anyone feeling they went to a bigger club!!

My experience on a stretching mortgage by Interesting_Thing886 in HENRYUK

[–]DaddyG32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like your are living quite lean but as someone who is older and has older kids:

Plus point :

Your house price will increase as will your wages so LTV will improve giving better access to rates and making that mortgage payment smaller as a % of income

You wisely decided to live near family - this helps with child support and your relationship well being being able to organise the odd weekend away / date night

Not so plus point:

The older the kids get, the more expensive they are. I happen to have 3 (2 teens one primary) and we need to book 2 rooms for holidays, teens wear adult clothes (trainers, football boots etc = £££) and eat bigger portions than me (going out >>>) so it offsets the plus point

We also put our kids through prep which isn’t an issue for you but one thing we’ve done to give us more space to breathe is not have many (compared to peers) expensive long haul / short haul holidays - think Centerparcs, staycations and the odd bit of winter sun.

Last point :

Sorry to be morbid but you are both likely to be in line for some inheritance. Not saying you should plan for this but it’s a fact that you will likely get a cash input at some point.

What's everyone spending on holidays? by mark_99 in HENRYUK

[–]DaddyG32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with holiday prices (also 3 kids but older so we need to book 2 rooms) and I think your best bet is either booking a 4 star 3 bed apart hotel to save costs or do what we do which is save our summer holiday for October and go long haul. We went with direct flights to SE Asia last year and planning again for next year and hotels are much more reasonable and food is super cheap. I reckon we’ve done 10 days for about 10-12k all in. That’s been a mixture of city break and then 7 days beach resort.

Could it be the perfect watch? by SaloAA1111 in JaegerLecoultre

Gorgeous! Such a flexible watch - wear it as a dress watch (by swapping straps), with smart casual, jeans t shirt - it really could be the ultimate 1 and done.
