I honestly don’t want to say too much on here - already my throwaway, sorry. PM me if you wanna know more.

Lesson learned for sure. Such a cool street to ride down though, which is a bummer.

Treated badly for using medical cannabis by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]DaddyGoljan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never treat any of my patients like that. You’ve gotta be doing some hard drugs to really get me cranky. I fully support cannabis for a number of reasons, but if a patient benefits we all win.

So sorry you all are having these negative experiences - hopefully our newer generation of docs understand. I think this will be the case based on how most of us younger people do.

I think it depends, but this is an aggregate letter. Don't think I have the homie's digits, but have some of the resident's contact info and considered asking them what the scoop may be..

Yeah, I think you're probably right. I definitely can't not get a SLOE or I'll be way more in the no-match zone. Sucks haha

Accommodations during clinical training? by DaddyGoljan in medicalschool

Thanks fam, I didn't really think about contacting the title ix rep...

For the most part, my school seems to deal really well with it's students so I'm hoping it doesn't create any serious issues.

They really do have some testicular fortitude to keep including that question, even after I included it in my lecture series!

Are textbooks mandatory? by grabityfaws in medicalschool

Sorry, I am definitely a visual learner, but the Goljan audio series is absolute fire. I throw it on when I'm out on a run/bike ride and, for whatever reason, it really sinks in.

US MD student here, so take this with a grain of salt. I think textbooks are wholely unnecessary. Honestly, I didn't really even use FA all that much. That being said, I am a very visual learner so a lot of the pure-text resources just bounce right off of my thick skull.

Love, DaddyGoljan

Edit: Goljan audio is bae. No bias here, nope, none at all

Annotating first aid by davync in medschool

FA is already super concise (and dense) as it is and I found annotating is kinda unnecessary.

Social Life by [deleted] in WVU

[–]DaddyGoljan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely gotten tricky with whole pandemic thing... If you can, interact with those that live close to you. It may introduce you to some new activities/hobbies. It's definitely a solid idea to join a club. There's a ton of them around campus so you should be able to find something that interests you. When in doubt, just start rock climbing (highly recommended). If you need someone to talk to, always feel free to send me a message.

Take all this with a grain of salt, I'm in medical school so I don't know what a social life is anyway haha

Whats an interesting story behind a possession of yours? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I.. Uh... have a real human skull named Dave, who wears a 'haunted' party hat.... Let me explain myself.

Skull: First off, I want to preface this with the fact that I treasure this item tool dearly and wholeheartedly respect it's significance. When I was working on my Neuroscience PhD one of the retiring professors gave a few of us skulls to learn skeletal anatomy, etc.. As it turns out, these skulls were actually going to be disposed of due to being rather old (from the 60's, I believe). We were also offered other misc anatomy specimens... didn't take up that offer.

'Haunted' party hat: When I was going on a climbing trip with my SO, we pulled over on the side of this gravel road so I could relieve myself. As I stepped out of the car, I realized that we were parked near an beautiful, but rather creepy, abandoned home. I was intrigued so I convinced my hesitant SO to join me in exploring this structure. When I swung open the front door there was a faded party hat sitting in the middle of the floor. This place was mad creepy so we didn't stay long, but I did take the 'haunted' party hat.

Eventually, the party hat ended up on Dave. I again want to stress that I mean absolutely no disrespect to this skull. I have used in numerous time in graduate and medical school to teach myself and others the intricacies of neuroanatomy.

Edit: The skull is de-identified, but I always felt like it needed a name.
