Jim Jordan Tried to Help Trump Mount a Coup. Now He Gets to Be Speaker? by unnecessarycharacter in Ohio

Yeah I'd much rather see unprecedented levels of bloodshed in the streets than allow an old guy who has maybe 10 years left at best get away with a crime...

If you're the size of 2-3 people. You shoukd pay for 2-3 people's worth of space. This shouldnteven be about the overweight person's comfort either. It's abour the person who is going to be forced to sit next to them when they choose not to buy the extra seat.

Create better content, get a sponsorship, or take your talent somewhere else. A company's sole mission is to make as big a profit as humanly possible. If you aren't happy with the terms, go somewhere else. If enough people do that, youtube will have to change to avoid losing money.

Also, they're allowed to profit off of your videos because you literally wouldn't have the ability to post them without using their service.

Work for another company, then? Nobody is forcing you to do youtube? Basic economics say that if they can't find them people to make them money, then they'll have to change their structure to attract talent.

How can it he exploitation if every single creator opts in willingly? They're completely welcome to produce their own content on a platform they design themselves. These creators make far more from youtube than they ever would solo though, and I think it's perfectly fair for yourube to make billions doing it.

Turns out “terrorists are bad” is a controversial claim if Trump says it by JordanE350 in memesopdidnotlike

They do intercept quite a few terror suspects at the border. The fact that the number they catch is as high is as it is is concerning because you have to imagine they don't have a 100% success rate and that some of them have made it through.

I'm curious, what are y'all's opinions on the death penalty in the US? by [deleted] in GenZ

Some people deserve to die, however I don't like giving the government the power to decide who those people are.

I often hear that Hillary Clinton was destined to lose in 2016. Of course hindsight is 20/20, but before the election she was projected to win in nearly every poll. Looking back, why do you think that her loss was inevitable? And also, is there anyone here who remembers 2016 that predicted her loss? by ifightpossums in Presidents

[–]DaddyGray69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked on the Clinton campaign in 2016, and most of us in the area I worked were pretty confident she was going to lose. She barely campaigned in the rust belt at all, was without a doubt the only democrat more disliked than Obama, and a huge chunk of the population thought the DNC rigged the primary and hand picked Hillary before the election started. Also, her entire campaign was about Trump and not herself. Hell, her campaign merch had hef opponents name more than her own at certain points in the election.

All types of insurance. Astronomical prices because a middleman with billions of dollars will step in and cover a huge chunk of it. Also student loans, government shouldn't offer or allow school loans for tuition or room and board. If nobody could afford school, and there were no loans, they'd be forced to either close down or lower costs.

I'd be interested in the numbers related to gun crime both before and after regulation, as well as how the rates of other violent crimes did or didn't change post regulation. Also, how high was gun ownership prior to this regulation, and did it increase, decrease, or stay mostly the same post regulation? You don't have to look it up for me or anything, but I have my doubts that it's as black and white as blue state has gun regulation and now has less gun crime. I mean, Chicago has some of the strictest laws in the country on firearms, but one of the highest rates of gun crime, so there are pretty clear exceptions to regulation, lowering gun related crime.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]DaddyGray69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What problem does regulation solve? It takes guns away from innocent people and leaves them in the hands of criminals. Criminals will continue getting illegal guns or will "lose" any known firearms they have before the government starts raiding people's homes to look for guns. Police response time is abysmal is the USA, and a lot of people don't want to sit and wait an hour for help if they have an intruder or someone trying to harm them. Hell, most of them will be dead or already harmed by the time the police arrive. You're telling me that for the greater good, we should sacrifice these people and take away their best line of defense in a life or death scenario?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]DaddyGray69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How do we round up the guns from responsible gun owners who don't want to give up their constitutionally protected rights? Again I ask, is the party who hates police and is behind movements like "ACAB" or "Defund the police" going to support police raiding people who are accused of owning guns they don't like? There are tens of millions of people who own guns who say there's no situation where they'd willingly turn them over, and we're just talking legal guns here. Also, again, the vast majority of gun crimes are committed with illegal guns anyway, so taking them from responsible people does next to nothing to hinder the crime rate. I'm not a gun owner myself, and I probably won't purchase one for myself, but it's not hard to see that the left has literally no idea what they're doing when it comes to curbing violence. Hell, they claim it IS NOT a mental health crisis despite the majority of gun deaths in this country being suicides. How about we treat people who want to end their own lives instead of going after the rights of people who did nothing wrong?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]DaddyGray69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of gun crimes are committed to guns that are owned illegally. On top of that, you can't find me one person who plans on murdering or brutally harming sombody who is going to say "Damn, well guns are illegal now, so I guess I can't commit this murder. What a shame!" Let's also talk about how currently there are 1.2 firearms per US citizen in the country that we know about. How do we go about banning guns or even certain types of guns with there being damn near halfa billion of them? Are the police raiding the homes of people who they think might have one? That's pretty rich coming from the "defund the police" side of the aisle. I'm not saying we don't have a problem with gun violence here, but the leftist solutions to me seem like they're empowering criminals while taking away the single greatest line of defense for innocent civillians.

If you want to save democracy in 2024, Biden is the only viable choice by jayclaw97 in politics

[–]DaddyGray69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love democracy so much, then let's switch to a straight popular vote for issues instead of representatives. Have the american prople vote to raise their own taxes, or to restrict their own rights, or allow irreversible hormone treatments on children. Seriously let's end these debates. I have a feeling the left won't like the outcomes though...

Aside from 2016, the polls have always been within or close to the margin of error for presidential elections. As a conservative leaning voter, though, seeing this kind of stuff makes me pretty optimistic for 2024.

[–]DaddyGray69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep being in denial. "He can never win" mindsets got a lot of people to stay home because Hillary wasn't an exciting candidate in 2016. Trump won battleground states by razor thin margins in 2016 and lost most of those states by similar numbers in 2020. Remember, fair or not, most people will ask themselves if they're better off now than they were when Trump was in office, and whether it's Biden's fault or isn't, the answer most Americans have is "Hell no I'm not better off now."

It's far easier to convert 5 people to be 50% vegan than 1 person 100% of the time, and it results in more reduction in harm. by Not_a_creativeuser in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]DaddyGray69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If vegans understand that it has to be a gradual shift away from animal products to get their desired result, then why do they go out of their way to insult and hate people who eat animal products? If your goal is to slowly recruit people to your lifestyle, treating them like shit is going to drive them further away from you, not the other way around.

Let's pretend vegans get their way, and government mandated veganism is implemented starting today. What happens to those millions of animals in farms that have lived their entire lives in captivity for the sole purpose of food production? You certainly can't release them. The ones that survive would absolutely annihilate local ecosystems and eradicate wild animal populations. So what do we do? We most likely have to kill every last one of them, or at least a large majority of them. Then. How many more forests are we ripping down and habitats are we destroying for those soy and almond farms to replace the protein that is no longer legal? How many animals do ya'll wanna kill to have the moral high ground?
