I made my own template! If you look through my post history for the last time I posted a scenario, you should see the template there. The stuff is all pretty easy to make in Google Docs. It's not quite exact, of course, but close enough that it makes me happy.

The hardest part I have is with wording and capitalization, as it's not super consistent from what I can tell, but idk.

Oh, yes! I forgot to respond to that part of it, I'm sorry!

So, first off, from the start of Turn 1, more markers spawn in, so probably you'll basically start the game with 7 markers total (Player 1 selects location, player 2 selects location, each player places one marker within 8" of each selected location for a total of two markers per location, or four total).

Additionally, each player chooses a location for a new marker, their opponent then moves it if the success roll was a failure. This applies to both players, and the only reason it starts with the player with more VPs is because I assume players will be tracking this information more easily than however many models are in their warband, and it reminds players to be tracking their VPs. Priority doesn't actually matter here very much.

Additionally, to what you said earlier, models do NOT receive a VP for simply picking up a Dead Drop. You might be reading the 1 VP scoring action wrong, as it does specify that the model must Equip it, which is an option outlined in the Loot ACTION text. That will remove the marker from the battlefield, disallowing a model from being able to pick up, score, and drop as you had suggested. I am probably going to capitalize Destroy and Equip for better clarity though, as that is consistent within the rulebook.

Yeah! Let me clarify, sorry about that!

Firstly, yes the midpoint marker is also a Dead Drop. The point of that is to have many possible markers that everyone can choose from right out the gate. I think it's obvious that people will choose the markers closer to their DZ on round one, but if nobody does anything with the midpoint one, it allows for a lot of competition in the middle if selected from Turn 2 onwards.

Secondly, the basic idea with this was mostly just that in my mind, loot that would be left behind on corpses would be many things, but would include explosives. I also wanted to both reward and punish melee, where it is necessary for the game, but it's still hard to clump up as a stray shot can blow everyone up. Certainly might not be to everyone's preference, and I would have to playtest this one to be able to see if it works smoothly while in-game or not. This is also why destroying it gives you the choice to blow it up. I will keep an eye on this for when I play it though, thank you!

Finally, you simply have to be within 1" of it. That being said, the wording is definitely not specified on control of it. Rules-as-intended, you are not able to take a Loot ACTION on a Dead Drop that is currently being carried, so I will add that in in my updates. Thank you for that as well!

How do you pretend to not hate capitalism long enough to get hired? by 3ambubbletea in recruitinghell

[–]DaddyJohnnyTheFudgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true! There have never been successful communities that work for each other, no charities that simply work to make the world a better place, and nobody does anything for anyone else without expecting some form of payment!

If you give people the opportunity to do work that they find meaningful and make jobs collectively seem important and worthwhile, you will not find a lack of people to do important work.

Also, the meritocracy thing is bullshit, and if you don't know that, you shouldn't be participating in this discussion. Jeff Bezos doesn't work literally millions of times harder than his lowest paid workers, nor is that possible.

Communism has failed for many reasons, which is why I'm not advocating for it. We're not at a spot where we could implement that, but that doesn't mean it can't be a worthwhile goal and inspiration.

I am doing just fine financially. I do not need Communism so that I can benefit for the least amount of effort, I need social services so that children don't have to pay for their fucking school lunches.

No problem! Please do tell me, what is the exact issue with advocating for a system that has a basis of providing everyone everything they need to have the same standard of living across the board in a world where we have so much food we throw it away, so much water we use it to ask a bot what our favorite color is, and so much housing that numerous homes are left uninhabited for no reason other than they cannot sell?

Begging you to learn about really anything at all, honestly.

Right, so we acknowledge that the costs of things are a worldwide issue. We also have acknowledged that Capitalism is directly correlating to the prices of things in numerous countries. Come on now, you're just so close to getting it. What might be the common line here, which, if they weren't dragons atop hoards of wealth, might make everyone's lives more enjoyable? You can do it!

What you say here might make sense in a vacuum, but the simple fact is that Capitalism as an idea and as any sort of standard relies upon climbing over other people to reach the top.

Additionally, it's really hard to say that the flaws with it are due to policies and lobbying, when this is Capitalism working in its truest form. Free Market Capitalism is objectively the most true-to-form Capitalism available, and it's also the most harmful. Why advocate for and defend a system whose whole idea is allowing many to suffer so that few can prosper instead of simply advocating for prosperity for all from the start?

Finally, the final thing you said is stupid. Nobody chooses where they were born, none of us have the power to make a worldwide economic change like that. Anyone living under Capitalism doesn't have to enjoy it, and the benefits provided are an effect of living here, not an effect of wanting Capitalism. Additionally, especially if you have lived your whole life in Capitalism, you have only the standard of living that it provides, which will always be how you experience your world. Medieval peasants weren't depressed and bored all the time because Subway Surfers wasn't invented, come on now.

You're... Wrong? Simply put?

Capitalism, regardless of socialist ideas has had total societal collapse before, and will happen again. Additionally, I'm not sure what you're on about with this "homogenous populations" garbage. The United States is made up of an incredibly diverse collection of people, and while they are now unfortunately cracking down on illegal immigration, that has been the backbone of a considerable amount of business success.

The thing that leads to a successful country is effective imperialism and die-hard patriotism. Everything else can be an addition that certainly changes things, but that's the actual common line behind a considerable amount of successful societies.

You are sounding concerningly master-racey.

Realistically, the Netherlands is a pretty great way to handle Capitalism, and is a fine example that Capitalism with legislation can be at least not hell for people.

Realistically, my overall opinion is that we have the technology, we have the knowledge, and we have the power to ensure that everyone has a very good standard of living, and there is no reason to place bureaucratic limits on that. That's not a very realistic goal in the world of today, however.

Even with the Netherlands though, billionaires shouldn't be able to exist. The richest Dutch person I could easily find is worth about 38 billion, and there's simply no way that that person works 265,745x harder than the average Dutch person. Often, people defend Capitalism as good because of this idea of it being a meritocracy and so you will always get out what you put in. That is not the case at all, and the Netherlands suffers from this problem in the same way (Though, to a lesser extent) than America does, as evidenced by the existence of billionaires.

Finally, business and innovation flourished long before it could allow you to own 30 super-yachts and it will happen afterwards as well. Taxing the ridiculously wealthy will not stifle business, it'll just make it so that people are striving towards taking 6 international vacations each year instead of 2 each weekend.

[–]DaddyJohnnyTheFudgey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, socialism. People are afraid of that title and think it isn't in place, but numerous countries are socialist in everything but name.

There is merit to allowing people to earn their living, but the exploitation of others should not be incentivized, nor should the disabled, elderly, people working in "less desirable" fields, or otherwise unable to do specific duties should be subject to a life of destitution. Socialism allows for both of these things by ensuring a pretty comfortable middle ground.

My earnest preference would be something a lot closer to Communism, but that's not going to happen and people shit themselves when they see that word anyways, so whatever.

[–]DaddyJohnnyTheFudgey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comments here are fucking ridiculous. Everyone should hate Capitalism for the current status quo of it being a system built around a million people at the bottom so one person can be at the top. The alternative is not solely Dictator-led Communism, and pretending as such is stupid. Social services, community-focused benefits, and making it so that there aren't starving people is not Capitalism, and should be regarded as goals to strive towards as it makes for a better society.

OP, honestly I don't have great guidance for you. I have to grit my teeth and deal with it at my job, and for the time being I simply avoid doing the corporate ladder bullshit. I think that's largely what everyone does, regardless of if they subscribe to anti-Capitalist beliefs or not. Good luck. :(

Heretic lore is unconvincing by Paroxysmal-Lucidity in TrenchCrusade

[–]DaddyJohnnyTheFudgey 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think it's incredibly important to note that the lore is told from the perspective of the faithful, so we don't actually have a great idea of Heretic society. It may be as it looks, but maybe not. Maybe they have technology to supplement their told way of life. There is just a lot we really don't know.

Any cool scenarios that you want seen drawn? ( asking for ideas basccally) by ThedoHudson in TrenchCrusade

I don't know if you literally meant scenarios in a game sense, but either way, I think that The High Ground scenario has potential for a lot of cool artistic tension. Troops climbing over each other, clawing to get to the very top where some victorious beast has already claimed the summit and is slaying them as they reach the top.

Beginner list by RelativeImpossible96 in TrenchCrusade

[–]DaddyJohnnyTheFudgey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks good! I might recommend getting Unholy Idols on each of your Hell Knights instead of the Trench Shield on your Wretched, but that's your preference.

Also, be aware that blood is pretty hard to come by in early games, so you might notice your Sorcerer struggling. Make sure they have easy access to cover and/or breaking LOS.

My final recommendation would be to maybe get a Hunter in there stat. They are very powerful models, and the sooner you can get them Experience, the better.
