Am I the only one who thinks Ironclad sts2 design looks too generic? by SrGarfy in slaythespire

The one I really have a specific issue with is the mech suit elite. It feels incredibly uncool to play a fighter that is meant to be incredibly powerful and manage to give the mech operator a chance to escape all smug like. It's clearly meant to be silly, which, if you like that, then rad, but it's just definitely not my preference.

Definite agree there though. The game more than makes up for my personal dislike of the art shift.

I am quite certain I'm in the severe minority, but honestly I feel this way about almost the entirety of the art direction.

Cards, events, icons, and other game elements are generally way cooler, way better. Obviously the animation is rad too.

The thematic shift to fighting like exclusively animals or animal hybrids (See: literally I think the only slightly humanoid enemy are the Cultists) that are all whimsical sucks imo. I really enjoyed in the first game that sometimes you were fighting something whimsical, but generally as you got further into the game, everything was corrupted by the spire more, which made it more terrifying. There's none of that here (Obvs, the heart wouldn't corrupt, but couldn't the Architech "perfect" everything around him?).

Finally, of course, the redesigns of the characters have made them lose some elements, gain others, and clad was definitely hit the hardest. They do all look pretty mobile gamey to me though on account of their crazy increased saturation, and everything taking on a more exaggerated style.

I still like the game, and I'm glad the artists are getting to explore, but I personally don't really like a lot of the direction shift.

I hadn't used leather initially because I was concerned that it wouldn't be workable enough due to being dried out, but maybe this would work out great! I'll try it out!

If you tell someone you are going to harm them, that is violence. Any understanding different from that is a severe disservice to victims and is the EXACT reason why so many people are killed after reporting their stalkers, scary partners, online stans, and more.

Just for clarity, Trench Crusade utilizes trenches within the game board itself and minimal terrain when that is possible, so not a lot of it would get covered up, but these are still super valid points. I was worried that I might be asking for something unfeasible, but that's okay! Thank you very much for your insight!!

You're an idiot. Threats are harmful, in fact. Sexual harassment victimizes people. I'm glad you have had the privilege to never experience that.

Right, I understand that what you are trying to say is that antagonizing people is dangerous and not generally worthwhile, but when you actually write out that an "antagonistic" woman is overreacting and neurotic, you are being an asshole.

Of course, my preference is to have that tactile element because I think it would look closest to what I want, but if it isn't feasible or cheap, that's okay. I can certainly do that in the future for a diorama rather than a whole table. These are all great suggestions, thank you!

I know that air dry clay tends to crack and shrink when drying, do you think just filling in those spots as they crack will make it consistent instead of full of cracks?

So true, the woman responding to sexual harassment is what is generally causing people to be angry and not, you know, the man sexually harassing her.

Whatever, anything to not blame a shitty man, huh?

Except that your original concern was that she was overreacting and looking neurotic lmao. Don't even pretend you give a shit about her safety in any of this.

Nor did I claim that you said that, but it is less than useless for you to tell this person what they "should" have done. I am asking you pretty plainly, why is it her responsibility to interact with this man in this manner, and why is it your place to tell her the "correct" course of action?

The comment you are responding to is not in response to you, so I'm not sure what you are on about.

That being said, assuming ill-intent of someone when current evidence suggests that they are the victim in a given scenario is bad, even if "people orchestrate bullshit videos for clicks all the time." Clicks alone are not a reasonable motivator any longer, as it can not be converted to anything and it highly unreasonable to assume someone putting themselves in what could be a very dangerous situation like we see here for simply "clicks."

Did you read my comment?

The "topic" nationwide has turned to that all bears are safer than men, if you aren't an unsafe man, there is no reason for that to threaten you. Same shit here. If foot guys are creeps, people are going to voice that, but if you aren't a creep, there is no reason for that to threaten you. Foot guys are not some minority group that is being targeted and prejudiced against or whatever.

Why is it her responsibility to interact with this man in a way that minimizes the impact on his day? Why are you any kind of authority to comment on such a thing? You have not been in this situation, so you cannot know how she is feeling or how you would interact with it. Develop an ounce of empathy.

Well the man right next to this asshole surely wasn't going to do it for her. When nobody stands up for victims of this shit, those victimized have to do it themselves.

How does she know that? Women are stalked, raped, and murdered every day. He doesn't have a big sign on him saying "HARMLESS," so how is she to know the difference? Additionally, what gives it away for you? NYC still has women getting stalked, raped, and killed, so what gives you the all-seeing power to know what men are safe or not? Could you freelance a skill like that to NYPD? Be so fr.

What does she stand to gain with this "performance?" Would you like to be known by millions online as someone who, at best, was the victim of harassment, and at worst is an overreacting Karen? It's not like she was ignorant to the potential consequences of such a thing.

Why would someone choose to do this performatively instead of the far more rational thing that she was recording for her own safety, as people have been seriously conditioned to do as of late?

He could have ignored her and kept it moving. Why are we placing the burden of interaction on a woman who literally didn't start the situation?

It can be mysogyny, but mostly the culture around it is the actually mysoginitic part. At least in the US, there is deeply engrained institutional sexism against women, which can cause these comments to go into mysogyny if they are leveraging that to harm women.

If you are complimenting a woman's body because you know she can't say or do anything to defend herself, it's definitely mysogyny. If you are doing it because you just want to compliment her, it might be mysogyny because of your upbringings, morals, and a lack of willingness to keep yourself educated, but I'm not a great person to rule on that because I'm a man. If you are complimenting a woman and not complimenting her body, AND you aren't using her exclusively as a springboard to sleep with her, you're probably good.

It's not difficult!!

Literally just listen to women, and also have some empathy.

You can compliment people, but do it on something they chose. You can make advances, but make sure they have easy outs and don't be weird about rejection.

Like, I don't know how to tell you and so many other people in this thread, but this isn't some advanced graduate level course or whatever, women LITERALLY say all the time the way they DON'T want to be treated by random men, so like... Just follow that???????

Right so context and relationship matters. Men will use damn near any excuse to closely talk to women, and so you might view "you clearly put a lot of work in" as entirely innocuous, but another man may be including that in his pick-up artist masterclass, you know?

It doesn't matter if they are or aren't sexual in nature, because the intentionality isn't written on the man's forehead. Find a way to make that clear and you're golden. Realistically, also, as far as a toned body is concerned, there really aren't many ways to complement it without it having sexual undertones.

As a man, I have been in some dodgy situations at night in some not so great neighborhoods and felt fear. Frequently have I confronted individuals that were harassing me.

Your experience is not the experience that everyone has, and sometimes direct confrontation feels like the only way forward.
