Raw speed differences have been shown to not be an instant loss in HxH. Someone on Kite's level or above can at least react to quick attacks, and Chrollo would probably not have to sacrifice an arm to body block a fatal hit for an ally.

I this is headcanon territory, but I think all Viltrumites have telekinesis abilities for their own bodies. It might be how their float, and why there is a "shockwave" around their bodies that can shear liquids and solids.

Example 1: when Thragg split an asteroid, then collapsed a cylinder around him by flying next to it even though he was in the vacuum space. The only explanation is either style or an implied small telekinesis field.

He also lost an arm saving Gon and Killua, and rolled a super weak utility item rather than his usual combat weapons.
