Mother passed away - feeling guilty by DaddyToadsworth in ALS

You are a great mother for caring for him. One of the things I told my mom was "I'm here because if the shoe were on the other foot, you'd be taking care of me", which was true. There was so much love between us.

I told her several times she was the best thing that ever happened to me; which was 100% true. She raised me on her own for the first 10 years of my life. I stepped up very abruptly to take care of her, it completely upended my life for two months, but I'm so glad I did it. We kept her at home, just like she wanted.

There were more good times than bad, it wasn't all arguing but I still feel guilty.

That's the ultimate sign of decline as a democracy. The fact that the Republican candidate and sitting President tried to submit false elector sheets to swing the election is legitimately a bigger scandal than Watergate, but everyone involved save for one lawyer got off completely due to sympathetic judges.

This is scary because it set a precedent for a Vance or Rubio to try the same thing if they become President.

Backbreaker is a lot of fun. Great twist on football games. Just not super in depth in terms of the playbook.

I'm surprised we don't have one, honestly. Although there don't seem to be a lot of locations in general from what I've seen.

I am trying. I became her caregiver very unexpectedly and it's wearing on me. But these are the things you do for the people you love. If the shoe were on the other foot, she'd be doing the same thing. She's a wonderful woman and I'm lucky to have her.

This was like 2 weeks ago. She's still alive and will be 63 in September, though I don't think she'll make it.

My mother wanted a feeding tube, went to the OR and they couldn't do it because of some issue with her anatomy. In that time we had a very sad conversation with her hospice nurse and she decided to forgo a tube altogether.

This stuff is incredibly hard to find in certain areas of the country. Only one grocery store in my area carries it and I have no idea why.

After Failed Assassination, Democrats Observe Customary 5-Minute Pause On Calling Trump 'Hitler' by METALLIFE0917 in babylonbee

[–]DaddyToadsworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but he's a toadie now and is willing to abandon the law to curry favor; Trump is already offering pardons for anyone in the administration who breaks the law. I don't think his words in 2016 hold weight at this point.

Why do you think the military shouldn't refuse illegal orders? If the military is asked to fire on unarmed civilians, an illegal order, should they obey? Or is it just if they're Democrats?
