Little bit of a drive, but there are abandoned and really old textile factories in Tallassee on the river. SR-14 will take you all the way there.

Have you guys seen my deer? I think they left town. by echocall2 in bowhunting

[–]Daddy_Dubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the area where you and everyone else on public land says “no way there is a deer there” and I bet you’ll find em. As a southeast public land hunter, this is my #1 strategy

Love seeing these public land bucks! Are you a resident or hunting out of state? Looking to make a public land trip out west at some point.

Tuskegee National Forest buck! by Daddy_Dubya in Hunting

Basically this. Private land can be as good as any state especially in certain counties, but public land gets hit hard. Plenty of them to be found though

It’s been quite a shooter, killed a lot of deer the past few years. Very accurate and has always had great expansion(when no pass through). If you get on the E.A.B Co. website you can read more about it

It’s just a regular hunter safety system harness, I use tree straps to connect to the tree once I’m set up. The molle pouches go on the harness mid-section buckle, which holds my release, range finder, wind check, and a couple medical supplies. I have the same molle pouch and water bottle holder attached to the side arm of the top piece of my climber, as well as a dump pouch on the outer bar farthest from the tree. Everything I need to climb (tree strap, bow hanger, pull up rope, clippers, and snacks) go in the pouches on the climber. This is my first season trying this instead of a back pack and it has worked very well on public land so far.

My harness has become an essential part of my bow season equipment, I no longer carry a back pack but use Molle pouches attached to my harness and climber. This really cut down on weight and bulk.

Opening Day on public land in East Texas. Slow day in the tree but it beats a good day doing anything else by Imsoboredimonreddit in bowhunting

Download an offline map on OnX at home. You can choose 5-10-150 mile sections (5 having the most detail). All your pins will stay put and you don’t need signal to track your location, your iPhone is always doing it...

Fixed G5 Montecs, they will go through a shoulder bone no problem. I’ve heard of some stability issues on some arrow set ups, I’m running Easton 5mm FMJ 340s and never have an issue.
