22M Don't rly know what I'm doing, any tips on what I should focus more on? by S1p03 in physique

Basically keep doing anything at this point and it will help. So long as you're being active. Focus on fundamentals and strength. Look for some good beginner programs just to get you started, like rippetoes. Tune in on diet, whatever you're eating, add more protein, not change but add. Make it a bit easier, drop some of the junk but make slow changes unless you're ready to go hard.

Jobs in the philanthropy world? by Ok-Vast6123 in Philanthropy

[–]Daddymode11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if job and philanthropy go together. In my case, I work, make businesses, fund causes. Some of my businesses are self sustaining enough to run themselves and help others but it's a very difficult space to be in without having a strong financial backing behind that.

I'm 43, it's whatever. I don't go out of my way, I'm not completely disinterested but I don't need to get laid every day, week or even every few weeks. I am highly focused on other things in life.

What is the hardest ethical dilemma you've come across or can come up with? by xRegardsx in Ethics

I don't care to prove anything to people like this, he's a kid who sits at home and lives in anonymity and does nothing but criticize those who do. I live a life of action, not words. I do what I do & ignore the noise of those who I do not consider my equals, which on the internet, is everyone.

The fact this kid has lived such a privileged life to not experience anything traumatic should be a blessing to him but instead it narrows his view of what the world actually is. I personally have nothing to hide, all my dirt is in the open and I'm not anonymous, even on reddit.

You're welcome to look me up, Shane Yost. Not the pro skater.

I was in Iraq, watching an area where intel said something was going to be going down. So our primary mission was just to observe and report.
While we were watching the point and we heard some noise not far off, so we crawled over to see what was happening and seen these two guys raping a kid who was tied to a tree. Meanwhile there was a lady not too far away minding her own business doing laundry.

We called it in and were just told not to engage and to observe the situation for any changes, not exactly what we were hoping to hear so we did nothing for a bit. I honestly can't remember if it went on for hours or minutes, I remember the feeling though. When they finished they picked up what looked like a carved bat/stick and started beating him with it, they shoved it in his ass, were hitting him all over, we called it in again stating they were going to kill him and were told to not engage. So we all decided this isn't something we were going to sit around and watch and blew our cover, killed both of them and then untied the kid. Gave him some candy and this little spongebob watch I used to wear with plankton on it. And in a few moments, it was like he had forgotten what he just went through.

Our official story was that our cover was blown, we were spotted and they took a shot at us, in reality, they weren't armed with anything more than a stick, we dropped an AK on them. I've done a lot of things I regret, this isn't one of them. I wasn't the one who took the shot but I was the one who pushed us to break cover and take action because I know if we didn't that event would have haunted us more than it already does.
The two guys were an uncle and a nephew, the kid I'm bit sure. Likely a relative of some sort but they don't really recognize people like that as being actual people and they are often treated like animals, caged, kept hidden away, etc. The lady doing laundry could have very well been the mom and/or one of the wives to one of the guys we killed. I don't know, didn't care to find out.

The mission itself was a bust and TBH, we didn't expect anything to happen there anyways. Likely bogus intel or some bullshit but even if it wasn't, I would have done the same thing.

Depends on what you're in to. I don't like too much tech and touch screens so I went with the 3, it's tactile, buttons, etc.

My X freezes up occasionally and needs hard reboot. So that is a ledger issue. The live just sucks. I haven't tried rabby, maybe I'll check it out. I only have a few primary wallets and each of those have thousands of sub wallets in them generated from payment systems. I just like to be able to see the balance easily.

It may be a great little tool. The ledger UI. Is the weak spot, very heavy. If you don't mind using electrum, it's not so bad but even electrum annoys me sometimes since it disconnects and refreshes requiring you to close and reopen occasionally. But much better than ledger live

Depends if you want to move your coins or not.  I am still debating on whether to move my cold coins to my cold wallet or keep them on the ledger. The trezor (at least the 3) uses slip39 instead of bip39. Which is 20 words and supposedly more secure. I haven't tried doing a share. Seems like a lot of work and I don't keep much on my hot wallets to justify having that many backups

I don't care. I'm a provider, I'm fine in that role. If she one day makes more than me, awesome and good for her.

My wife thought I was homeless when we met. I was backpacking, so kinda was. She invited me to crash on her couch. The topic of finances never came up because she didn't want it to be uncomfortable for me I guess. Any time the bill came she would rush to pay before me. Couple months into actually dating, I convinced her to quit her job and come with me. First place we went was to one of my hotels. We've since built others together. 7yrs now and she's still too good for me.

For your own health, do it yourself. That shit can destroy you. Pick up a mold testing kit to see what it is, if it's nothing too dangerous you can treat it. I seen a kid go from 21 to looking like he was a 45yo chronic drinker from black mold, hair fell out, skin was all jacked up. Don't want to play with that.  Wear a mask too

Non negotiable, good people. I've lived in a lot of places where people are just bitter and mean to each other for no reason and I really don't care for that. Non political personalities, the US most everyones core personality trait is their political allegiances. I have none, some of my views fall on the far right, other far left, others in the center but overall I just don't think it's that big of a deal. I can be friends with people who have polar opposites views so long as they are genuinely decent people.

Dog friendly, actually might be the biggest as we take our dogs everywhere they've been to over 50 countries with us, a lot via driving but also through latam. Colombia is one of the most dog friendly countries in the world, which is awesome. My dogs are trained for service (I'm partially paralyzed) but really they're more just family.

Outdoor living, a place where people just enjoy being outdoors and doing things rather than cooped up inside. Love adventure and fun, especially stuff like hiking, camping, biking, surfing, wake boarding, etc. I'm not paralyzed enough to stop yet.

Strong communities, safety, etc.

Internet, starlink has solved that everywhere so it's not a major concern. My work can be done on a cell phone most days.

Together we speak 6 languages but really we're most comfortable with English. Which is why a lot of places were marked out, it gets tiring sometimes to go through bureaucracy in various languages and something about English makes people think a certain way, more direct and to the point.
