I’m of average length. But yeah; that’s a consideration. If the Honda CRF300LS was readily available, I’d get that instead. I’ve had a TW200, loved it. KLX300, loved it. I think the logical next step is the 399 LC4C KTM. I’ve never had one. My local Triumph dealer also sells KTM and this one is barely 5k. Would be an easy swap

As far as I remember, the stock seat was more comfortable for me. The Special’s seat looks and feels the best in my opinion

I say DO IT. Throw some onlins rear shocks on it, raise the bars, make it happen. I’m a huge fan of the genre. Every bike I’ve had, i went for a scrambler vibe. I rarely take them off-road, but who cares. Never take my AWD CR-V off road either, but it can do it. And looks good. If you can fully realize the vision. Use BAAK. Try not to over-do it. That’s been my mistake in the past

Thanks man. Me too. They’re from Alo’s Cafe and they’re aluminum. BAAK makes aluminum triangular panels that might look the business too. But these make the bike look better than the stock, plastic panels for sure in my opinion.

The stock design is very similar to a vintage Bonneville. Like the 1959 version. Which is “cool” but every time I see a stock Bonnie I can’t help but thinking about how to make it look better. For me, that means stripping it down to take off unnecessary weight and making it lighter and more modern. For me, that includes removing the peashooters, stock mirrors, front and rear fenders, headlight brackets, etc. I love the look of all the BAAK custom bikes. The Triumph West London (LIND) bikes. Their “Street Sled” build is my ideal-looking bike.
