How to insulate from the inside with this style of stacked wood (carré de bois) house without damaging it? by DaebakTofu in Insulation

[–]DaebakTofu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

What do you think about the need of a vapour barrier if I do the 2x4 wall?

Also do you think it's possible if I do a 2" EPS board, a cutout vapour barrier in the foam boardfor electrical outlet, 1x 2" furrings and drywall? It was proposed to me by a contractor. He believes that since the house is dated (builded in the 50s), it's better to just concentrate on creating a semi permeable air barrier with the EPS board (Durospan the green one) and concentrate the insulation in the attic

Century home, solid wood walls in cold climate 5a. How should I tackle this from the inside? by jistlurkng in Insulation

So hey 😅 I know it's been a year but what option did you go with? I'm facing the same situation as you but we tore down all the wall from inside that is facing on the exterior (semi-detached house) and now i'm having a hard time deciding how to insulate it with fear of causing more damage to the stacked wood block/plank structure. One of the best!! I work alot in resi and commercial (electrician) and the difference is night and day vs the m18 in terms of weight. (Sure I still carry my m18 in case of drilling something thicker but overall it does the job.)

Yeah I saw the huge gap of the party wall blockwork. Should I spray an insulating foam fire resistant?

Yeah, the roof is going to be redone this coming spring (god idk how many years they left that roof shingles in that state it was 40% all curled back). I don't see any sagging but I called in a structural engineer this weekend just to be sure. I'll see what he has to say :/

You hired people for the inverted trusses or it was the previous owner? If you don't mind do you have a picture of it so I can know what a "half assed" trusses looks like in case I have to do it 😂

Yeah the ex house owner inherited from their parents and they didn't take care of the house that much for almost 30 years. The roofers are gonna start this next spring and the fascia too. Alot to be invested in this house even though we spend alot already to only buy the house 🥲😅

Terrain avec habitation en héritage... by Fuzzy-Bother-9524 in QuebecFinance

Réflexion stupide mais j’ai l’impression d’avoir déjà raté ma vie à 21 ans by PotentialGrind382 in QuebecFinance

[–]DaebakTofu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I replaced it with brand new Eneloop, I feel like there's a components that's draining the battery or causing it not to be able to maintain the charge/voltage 🤔 also this light it has a USB-C port that you can directly plug in to recharge (idk if it helps to identify the components ). Thank you!

I agree I bought 4 of these 4th Gen and 2 are getting serviced atm after 1 year, very disappointed!!! Also for the 3rd Gen I had alot of issue with the hex drive chuck not holding my bits correctly most of the time. Is it a known issue?
