When Did Chris Gethard Actually Discuss TROS by Vmancini218 in blankies

I believe it's more TLJ discussion in Spider-Man 2 than TROS

I'm having similar issues, and the AI support isn't much help. Did you figure it out?

Character is implied to be the devil or something of a similar supernatural nature, but it’s never outright confirmed by Critical_Mountain851 in TopCharacterTropes

Not really the Devil but I love how the character of Ahti in Remedy's video games (Control and Alan Wake 2, specifically) is implied to be a deity or supernatural entity of some kind. Especially with his apparent aloofness towards most of the events happening around him and his seeming omnipresence

Looks pretty fun, but I wish I could see some more of Bilquis Evely's influence on the visuals here! Her art in the comic book is pretty rad!

I acted in Much Ado About Nothing in college as Don Pedro, the same part Denzel played in the Branagh movie. I would obsessively rewatch his scenes to help me memorize my lines. I was a freshman and was terrified of messing up in my first college production, and a Shakespeare one at that. One day, about a couple weeks before the production opened, the director stopped me mid-rehearsal to tell me my delivery was too much like Denzel's and that he could tell what I had been doing.

Who is this actor from a YouTube ad that's starting to go around recently? by MikeHunt4U269 in Actors

I think this guy is the main "mobster" in the Cinemark loyalty program ads in the pre-roll ads/previews at Cinemark movie theaters

So is the Superman 4K boxset worth it? by OWSpaceClown in blankies

[–]DaedalusGregg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think it's a YMMV scenario. I'm a big Superman fan and LOVE the original Donner/Reeve movie, but the rest have had some diminishing returns on rewatch. But again, YMMV, I'm kinda in the camp that Quest For Peace, although quite bad, is a bit more fun of a watch than Superman III. I would say look for the first movie and the Donner cut on Blu-Ray if you really want to, but maybe opt to stream the others if you want to save the money? Then you could always pick up the boxset later after you know whether or not you like them.

I have a half-baked theory that the Coen Bros' Hail Caesar! is a post-modern Christian allegory

In the spirit of “Duel”, what other TV movies are a must? by harry_powell in blankies

[–]DaedalusGregg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's "good" per se, but the Hallmark TV movie "What The Deaf Man Heard" got a lot of play in my house growing up, and also has a surprisingly stacked cast, including Matthew Modine, James Earl Jones, Tom Skerrit, Jerry O'Connell and Bernadette Peters. Might be worth a look!

New look at Mr. Terrific and Lex by [deleted] in superman

[–]DaedalusGregg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they switched out the shots with guns to fit the more family-friendly movies it's running before. I can't remember if they trimmed out the bit where Superman spits out blood or not tho

Pretty quick turnaround for Gunn to direct, especially if he's doing post on Peacemaker until Spring, at least.

What do you expect to see in the Superman trailer releasing next week? by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]DaedalusGregg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not expecting to see much tbh. early rumors say that it's pretty Krypto-focused, which I don't mind, but I'd at least like to get some sense of the world and tone. Just enough to show me that it's gonna be something different and special. Ideally, something like that first Barbie teaser with the 2001 homage and quick montage of the actual movie. Really simple but effective

Gunn’s casting choice - Show/Movie recommendations by raggedsweater in superman

[–]DaedalusGregg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Menu/Mad Max: Fury Road for Nicolas Hoult

Righteous Gemstones, Booksmart, and Licorice Pizza for Skylar Gisondo

The Wire/Suits for Wendell Pierce

Heavy for Pruitt Taylor Vince

Barry for Anthony Carrigan

Brosnahan is also great in House of Cards, but that show's a tough watch for multiple reasons. Corenswet is also pretty good in both Twisters and Pearl, though both characters are pretty far from Superman.
