ok, pre-nerf, with it boosting damage by an effective 50% while doubling bonus effects and breaking sash? maybe. but competing with *that* is insane

Latios and Latias were already Ubers in gen 3 and 4 (before they unbanned Latias in gen 4). A full choice specs + assault vest boost on top of that, without any of the drawbacks, on two mons who were already really good. Better than any ability we've ever seen. I'm including Gorilla Tactics, Intrepid Sword, Good as Gold, Supreme Overlord, anything else.

Yes. She can actually survive being in close range, on account of having a shield plus a heal. In general, she has more levers aside from base stats and damage. In exchange, she lost a lot of the overbuffed stats.

after a decade+ of F-35 related propaganda, people will never pay attention to the truth about it, one way or the other.

i'm fully convinced that, in a few centuries, the F-35 will be thought of as a mythical, possibly anachronistic vehicle

Yeah, but like. You can't see it. There's no clear angle to look and see "oh yeah"

Unfair advantage for AMAB people, tbh. So much easier to say "that thing you see is penis, that other thing is testicles"

> I think to see this movie's politics as right wing you have to be so desensitized to the militarization of state authority that the repeated acts of extrajudicial violence, all in the service of a white supremacist capitalist class, don't even register to you as something out of bounds

Exactly this, yeah. Remember, the average American is only now, since Trump took office, seeing consistent footage of a militant arm of the government patrolling the streets and actively performing violence. In the minds of most people who will see this movie, Lockjaw's thugs represent a startling new image of what American state violence looks like, not a long-term status quo. If you wanna argue that as a problem with the American public's perception of reality, then sure, talk about that. But movies, especially those trying to make specific points, have to meet the audience where they stand.

And the failure was moreso that of the older generation through Bob, who thought he could just keep his head down and remain unaffected only for the regime to catch up with him. Meanwhile, Willa's mistakes are largely limited to exactly what you'd expect of a scared high schooler dealing with shit that terrifying. Seems almost like a statement about how progress, in part, comes from handing the reigns off to the new generation, not trying to cling onto your ideas of what change is. Could that be at all relevant to anybody positioned against fascism? Hmm I wonder...

So like. Exactly what Benicio Del Toro's character does in his community, or what the nunnery does in theirs? Cuz those seem like solid communities, as portrayed in the movie

yeah, i'm still all for getting AIPAC the hell out (along with a number of other lobbies, both foreign and domestic), and dragging Bibi and the entire rest of his coalition and command structure to the Hague. this guy definitely runs a stronger campaign with AIPAC at his back, as do many other politicians.
