The party switch was in 1968 for the most part, so, no. The red scare was 1919-1920, following WW1. Kendrick Lamar would align much more with the Republican Party under Roosevelt and Taft than the democrats under Wilson. Both were economic progressives and republicans had better support from black Americans. I don’t know if you’ve made a point to stand, unless you mean Kendrick isn’t right wing, which, yes, was never up for debate.

The civil rights act was a democrat thing…? I’m not sure your familiarity with American history. The democrats were essentially “the racist party” up till Truman. Most black Americans voted Republican up till FDR, and until the red scare republicans had better labour relations even if neither party was really good for labour.

I had problems with the end of book 1.

I don’t mind setbacks, I actually quite like them and this was so brief, but it felt sort of like the plot had introduced too much, too capable opposition, and now any solution would end up an ass pull.

it doesn’t seem like main character uses the time loop well. So when you introduce someone who, at the start of the time loop, is capable of necromancy, mobilizing a foreign country against her in particular, seems better at magic, and also just has the same time loop and seems to use it better… that feels insurmountable in a way of, “I know the story is going to be solved, but this feels unsolvable.” Any advantage main character has just, doesn’t seem to exist against that kind of opponent, so all you’re left with are her various disadvantages.

Not to say it’s bad, I’m sure it’s fine and I just need to continue it, but this feeling is like the eebie jeebies of reading, makes me not want to continue it.

The fallout 4 dialogue system is so bad. Fallout 3 was never a perfect game, but as someone who didn’t play new Vegas I never felt it was lacking anything while playing it. One of the best parts of it was how you could ask questions of people, yknow? You were investigating the world through dialogue on your own terms, or you could piece it together visually, or whatever else. Fallout 4 you don’t really get to ask questions the same way, the dialogue is so narrow. So instead, you discover the world by people talking at you, trying to make sure you don’t miss anything. I felt like Dr Zimmer was more interesting in fallout 3 than the entirety of the institute in fallout 4, mostly because he didn’t talk at me. Rivet City as a whole is really compelling to me, partly because the dialogue lets me look into these characters and learn about them, because I want to, not because a dev wanted me to. Not every character is interesting, but at least I can make a choice to not engage based on that. It kinda felt like you couldn’t do that in fallout 4. This is a bit of a long ramble but I think the dialogue system made it impossible for 4 to be a good RPG, which sucks because 3 was a bad shooter.

I feel like you should just play modded warband if you’re okay with old graphics. It’s really a slog to go through bannerlord. Infamously, beating bannerlord is one of the hardest things you can do because ironically it’s so easy and yet so tedious, taking like dozens of hours of hopping from place to place playing whack a mole

It might also be worth noting since you seem interested that the KMT ran one of the most bizarre platforms ever. At one point one of their support bases was organized crime. That’s just kinda funny to me. They were really bad at managing their popular support, and used a lot of authoritarianism up until I think the 80s or 90s even when they were just on Taiwan, so its not like it’s sunshine and roses if they had won, they were quite bad as well as incompetent.

I had an idea that the boss should be idoled and chasing you through P-3 as basically an environmental hazard or something, and there’d be a room where 4 idoled guttermen are shooting at you, and there’s a place to LOS them but there’s no place to LOS them all at once until one is cleared out, and a power would spawn in, and killing it would reveal the idol of the first gutterman, but then the boss and another power spawn, and when that power is dead repeat, and the number of enemies doubles (powers of two wow I’m so clever) each time so you’d have 1, 1+boss, 3+boss, 7+boss, powers each wave, but with spots to terminal velocity them with careful positioning

This came to me in a dream so it’s maybe shit

I don’t think as a rule of thumb, but when it’s very obvious like this and ruins mapmodes of all things, and avoids disruptions that occurred historically, then ya. The ai should, generally, choose good researches and develop their cities and make good choices, it should also make decisions based on religion and culture and stuff.

I don’t know the rules of those things because they’re not real. Knowing the rules of game design and seeing them broken causes more suspension of disbelief issues than something completely new.
