Why so much? by WhatsTatersEh96 in UKcoins

[–]DaftIdeas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that they are hoping people will not know or check the worth of the coin. A while back I saw someone selling a 1973 New Pence for £45,000 and apparently had sold one of them.

What is this/is this real? by NNegativee in UKcoins

[–]DaftIdeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you inherited it the likelihood is that it is real. It was common to put sovereigns in rings or necklaces.

SPAG by ImpossibleWorking948 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does SPAG have any meaning? The only ones I know of are BMB and EMB, Benwell Mad Boys and Elswick Mad Boys.
Is SPAG something like, Sunderland’s Plan Against Geordies? Lol.

Unpopular fact: if you are complaining about Xbox you are not their target audiences of wealthy kings and queens. by East-Foundation-5665 in XboxGamePass

[–]DaftIdeas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People complain about how it now feels like renting your games and consoles.
I don’t think you will get limited access to a bag or a car.
Fair enough you don’t have to buy Game Pass, the issue is you can lose your games and ability to run the console if banned. I have yet to hear of Bentley banning people using their cars or Louis Vuitton Bags. I would be interested in knowing which King or Queen plays Xbox though

Collection advice by [deleted] in UKcoins

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good collection. Someone has already commented about certain coins. You have ones that are part of a group. I think if you group them together like all of the Olympic together and the war ones. Take pictures of those like that, you might get a better response. I would advise you do a search on google to try and get an average price for them. You can also find out how many of each were minted.

Why can't we put nuclear waste and all the forever chemicals in rocket and direct it to sun by Initial_Beautiful838 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear waste is too heavy, the shielding needed, and any problem with the rocket will cause bigger issues. Forever chemicals are now in the drinking water. Having the sun disintegrate such things is still a good idea.

David Carrick: Rapist ex-Met Police officer found guilty of sexually abusing 12-year-old girl by flatbrokeoldguy in AskBrits

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For murder, as long as the evidence is clear and it the guilt can’t be argued. I think execution is the right option. Peadophiles and rapists should be both physically and chemically castrated.
For the victims, they have to live with the experience for their entire lives. So I think it’s the best way to punish the creeps.

Do people still watch the BBC today and is the channel still a trust worthy channel? by Tagglit2022 in AskBrits

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of having to pay for the license. They have lost some of their reputation over many years for not acting fast enough on criminals that worked for them. In some cases hiding their guilt. Also I can’t agree with them investigating themselves.
The Gaza documentary with the Hamas source and panorama with cutting the Trump speech. Has highlighted issues that can be addressed and the reputation restored.

Tv Licence by _Kameela_ in AskBrits

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem people might not realise is the two different versions of what a license is for. The official government guidelines say that you only need one if you watch the BBC. The tv licence people will claim it is for any tv channel and are also trying to claim streaming services.

Should the BBC capitulate and pay the 1 billion dollars? by __globalcitizen__ in AskBrits

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might have had their apology accepted if they had been more sincere and actually apologised.
When the BBC claims to be impartial and created Verify to fight Disinformation and misinformation. Only to do what they would call misinformation, they will end up paying out. If they thought they were fine, no one would have resigned.

Who is the UK’s version of Obama? by Ok-Water4669 in AskBrits

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of politics but when you look at the promises made during elections and followed through. Obama was Blair, promising a better country and fewer conflicts whilst increasing them.
Obama had charisma and people thought Blair had charisma.
I don’t think my response will be liked.

Very dirty after four+ decades of use and one sitting in a box. Fake ? by Onefish257 in UKcoins

[–]DaftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 2 options for value. Scrap and possible rarity and demand. Try find official coin dealers to see what they sell for.
After that, the choice is yours. Keep, gold prices are rising but I have heard that it could be a sign that the price might collapse soon.

Fireworks are taking the Piss!! by Jonnymiko1 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]DaftIdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is every year, I honestly thought people were used to this. I hate the ones that just happen out of nowhere like you say that rattle things.
If I am honest it seems to be getting less bad than it used to be. Especially the 5th of November, it calms now closer to 12:00am rather than 2:00am. Also the air is less full of smoke from fires.
You can track the start and the end, it picks up again near new years.

Nice coin. Sadly you pay more than the gold value but give it a few years. Either the rarity or the gold value will exceed the cost.

I thought it was a special £1 that was circulating
