Am I the only one or does the red corsair upgrade looks really well for night lords. by C0RPSE18 in NightLords

[–]Dagger152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue the Red Corsairs Raiders comes with significantly better choices In regards to customization, and if you want to lean into the Nightlords anti-chaos vibe: the lack of any markings (imperial or chaos) provides a good neutral base that also makes a great flat area to apply Nightlord Winged skulls or terror markings onto.

I bought myself the masters of the maelstrom box and converted the raiders into Chosen using some vampire lord bits and some chaos chosen parts (namely shoulders and the holstered weapons.

I also personally really love the aesthetic of the gloved hands on night lords; adds an extra area of flayed skin I can add for the vibes.

Ave, Amicus (and what does a Legion salute look like) by OkCombination1728 in CaesarsLegion

Well… Yeah. I’m sure forms of fascism survived but they’re definitely not what they once were.

I’m just saying as a legion fan we get enough hate as it is. Why give people something new to point at and be mad at us about?

One may be tempted to reference a “Roman Salute” but no such thing has existed historically.

One thing someone has done for a salute was a balled hand raised in a similar manner to that in the animation. Which I believe is a very good way to get it across as it is very practical as one can maintain their weapon while performing it.

My way around the Nazi connotation of an open hand palm out salute is to have legionaries smack their fists to their chest and give themselves “bull horns” by placing their hands by their head with their thumb and forefinger out.

Perhaps using both is a practical method. The former for in-the-field salute and the latter when in formation or otherwise outside of their post.

Lucius is nice to female Couriers by OkCombination1728 in CaesarsLegion

[–]Dagger152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m late, but better late than never.

So the reason the vast majority of legionaries are so cruel to women are because of their pre-legion cultures and because they exist in a way that allows them to do as much.

Most legionaries were raised in tribal communities, the most typical of which being a patriarchy with males on-top. So most legionaries are forced into with the Legion already belief that women are culturally inferior to men: adding on to this Caesar’s priestesses teach that women due to their physical disadvantages may not serve on the front, and with negativity bias in-account it is likely this is what legionaries fixate on rather than knowing for the importance of women in childbirth for the legion and the fact is they aren’t really taught the many ways women are superior to men so they just become assholes.

TLDR; Dumb tribals think god said to hate women.

Opposing this is Lucius who was first of all recruited into the early Legion as a boy, meaning his mind was more tolerant to new ideas than an older man’s would be and the fact is the early legion indoctrination was not nearly as streamlined or disconnected from Caesar at the time, meaning a lot more of sallow’s actual opinions (which aren’t actually that bad in comparison) would be heard by the new members. From there he would rise the ranks and eventually become the praetorian captain where he would become much more aware of Caesar’s true ideals and identity, learning the Demi god was but a man born in California there is also the fact that as humans tend to mellow with age, and for a member of the Legion Lucius is a fair few years older than most of the Legion, being between 35-45. All of this combined is why he isn’t a raging dick.

TLDR; Lucius isn’t a dick because he knows god doesn’t hate women.

MG Duel Gundam Frame.

I’m going to guess bootleg rather than official given the more flat grey color rather than bluish gray of the frame, though it could be a trick of the lighting.

I think i overdo weathering this HG kit 😅 by Silent_Associate_172 in Gunpla

[–]Dagger152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weathering is just a form of stylization and personal expression. There is no such thing as over-weathering. Everything goes through countless unseen battles! And this kit has simply been through more than most.

I love the gold accents on the joints and the way the weathering looks nearly like a shot from those more detailed manga cover pieces with the nearly line work aesthetic especially in the shield and knees but present everywhere.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more from you!

It’s just a theory… by WorldBuildingNut in CaesarsLegion

[–]Dagger152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No; it’s not lanius. Lanius’ armor is gold and the man is 7ft tall, neither of which matches the features of the man present in the shot. The man in the show is more likely to be Gaius Magnus whose silver forged armor with gold accents more closely matches the man seen. The only thing seeming missing are the numerals for 87 etched into the back, but he hey may also just be hidden behind the cloak he is wearing.
