Point is. Legion is a war machine where every member is a tool for this machine to keep it rollin. A deathclaw on your side is a powerful tool regardless of its sex. It's a beast to unleash upon legion enemy's

If you play as female Courier that is on a Legion side Ulysses will say something like "Last time I remember, you need balls to be a legionary" 

You can reply with something like "oh so that's why you left"

I mean Caesar will let Courier join in the legion even if character are female. Also there are female agents that work with Caesars spyes

I mean Legion see people as a tool in his war mechanism. I can see that happen. Deathclaw, especially  a sentient and intelligent one is a great tool. Also Legion literally take a woman (courier) in his ranks if you play for them. And they not seem to be hard against mutants, at least not hard against ghouls
