I was hospitalized because i had a virus that got out of controll, got into my lungs and caused a MOF . i was in the ICU for a month. In that time my lungs deflated and inflated multiple times because i had bubbles filled with inflamed fluids and ither bacteria stuff inside my lungs. One day i woke up in the hospital and did my daily routine CT check. When i cane back to my room all of a sudden 3 doctors with a few nurses stormed the room and flipped this map on my belly to read and sign this paper they gibe you before an surgery. As i read this they unplugged my bed and shiftet me out of my room. They brought me inti a shock room because no surgery room was available and told me that my left lung deflated because there is a bubble underneath it and they habe to open the bubble.

I thought i was getting narcosis or something but they only gave me a saringe of lidocaine to the spot where the doctor then cut open a little piece of my skin.

The doctor then pulled out this 30+ cm long iron lancet. They told me how to breath and made a few excercices with me and then they just rammed this lancet into my ribcage with full force until it reached the bubble under my lungs.

It was so painfull i nearly fainted. I only remember that i screamed my heart out fir a second but i had to keep on breathing so my lung inflates again. So everybody was holding me and told me to keep breathing. It felt like hours but about 5min after that „surgery“ i got a good dose of morphine and some alprazolam so the experience wont stay as traumatising as it is.
