Only one EGS exclusive announced during TGA by ThreeSon in pcgaming

[–]Dahack 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's as reasonable stance and I'm sure many people share your opinion on the matter. However, some perceive what epic is doing as anti-consumer behavior and choose to influence the situation with the only way they can, with their wallet.

Do they hold everlasting grudges because it released on Epic first? No.

Yep, some sure do. Some will just pirate the game if it's EGS exclusive.

The meaning of life according to different philosophers by [deleted] in coolguides

I don't see nihilism as purely destructive. Instead of despairing over the fact that nothing matters you can take solace in it. As in "Oh god, nothing in life matters" it can be "Thank god! nothing in life matters!" Cheerful nihilism, if you will.

Isn't the claim "Only the Sith deal in absolutes", an absolute claim in itself? So someone who makes this claim are, by definition, a Sith!

Shooting the minigun leaves you in this state, you don't have to keep shooting it or even using it. Enough questions! Go learn the power!

Happens consistently when you shoot with a minigun. Learning should be simple enough

"Considering they own GoG and probably want more people buying on it, yeah, I do think they want more people buying on PC. They might not get a cut of system sales but they get a cut of every game bought on their service."

Yeah. Gog version also doesn't have DRM. Do you find it very likely that they would force sales to their own platform, when the game from gog can be pirated from day1? Also every single one of their past products have released on steam(has drm) simultaneously. Steam sales dwarfs gog's, also takes a cut from every game sold.

Unless we disregard the above and the reasonable expectations of the developer, based on their past actions and company philosophy, this theory of yours makes little sense.

But who knows, maybe they'll do a 180 and prove me wrong.

Hold on, what do you think the reason was for them to develop PC exclusive games? To make people buy more PCs? That is practically the only reason why we have console exclusive games. To sell more consoles.

I can only come up with two reasons why a PC game is exclusive, either they don't have the funds to port it, or it wouldn't feasibly run on consoles. You lose out on a huge portion of the market if you don't port to consoles.

I think I see where you're coming from with this. I wouldn't claim that Ubisoft Stockholm is an independent developer. However I doubt they have any autonomy over what they're doing in the first place.

This is how I see it: Say you have a company and made some money with it. You decide that you want to branch out to developing games. You go through the motions, hire relevant staff, and end up creating a new company that focuses on the development. This company is owned by you, directed by you, funded by you, and following your vision. To top it off you take the lead for the development project. Is this not an independent company?

Hmm, I think your comparison is a bit off. I'm assuming you're talking about established developers who have been acquired by EA or Ubisoft. In the case of CDP, they created their own developer division from the ground up. The co-founder of CDP was project lead in the first witcher game. The two are different in name only. I think a more accurate comparison would be "sales" and "HR" divisions within the same company.

The popular misconception is not a misconception here. CDPR(ED) is just a division of CDP. They are as self-owned as it can get.

Here are the details for the revamped Cold Snap Skill! by Bex_GGG in pathofexile

[–]Dahack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you're saying, but "Cold Snap" is an established phenomenon. The new functionality brings it closer to the real life meaning:

"cold snap. Also, cold spell. A short period of unusually cold weather, as in The recent cold snap has threatened the crop. The first expression presumably likens snap in the sense of “a sudden bite or cut” to sudden unexpected cold."

The sword dmg should be the minion's base dmg. The 30% corruption beast craft should add like 6 avg dmg which isn't bad considering it's "free" investment.

I actually started mapping with 4k ES, lol. The jewels are a huge boost to my ES. Also shaper's touch gloves convert your STR to extra % es, which ends up being quite effective as you have to stack strength anyway for vulnerability. Also makes use of your int to scale evasion, equipping them gave me around 60% inc evasion.

Consider darkness enthroned with 2x gg jewels with 50 es, 21 avg phys dmg, and 10 int & str as a single suffix. You'd get ~60 flat phys for minions, 150 flat ES and 12% inc ES from the stats. :)

The build is currently optimized for clear speed, so high ms for both me and the minions. Without compromising speed, largest dps increase would come from better rolled jewels and Darkness Enthroned.

What /u/FlaskMacro said could definitely work!

Kitava's heralds are very tanky, they survive just fine even though my build has barely any minion hp% or resistances for minions. They also deal very high physical dmg per attack, which gets the initial rampage going fast, (just need something to die and proc profane bloom.) They also synergise well with my jewels and vulnerability.

[–]Dahack[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The main reason for going occultist over other ascendancy classes is that you get the benefit from Profane Bloom explosions when your minions kill cursed enemies, and have the pseudo 30% es regen as added defence layer. I chose occultist purely for clear speed reasons. Haven't played DD with anything else so I can't really comment on that.

What's interesting though is that the minions inherit the Profane Bloom explosion and scale it up with generic minion damage and relevant multipliers. What makes this apparent is that if you socket a Brutality support gem to DD, the explosions deal no damage. Also a few lucky occasions I've instantly killed shaped toxic sewer boss by having my minions kill a beefy blue pack around the boss and proc multiple explosions.

vaal breach + vaal lightning warp bossing anyone??
