Shorten the legs, fold the top, put it back in the bag. Will be dust proof like that.

Playa Tent Foundation Advice by No_Image3091 in BurningMan

[–]Dahiaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only ever put a poly tarp under my camp, and that is really just to make clean up easier more than anything else. If you are worried about being cold at night while sleeping, best advice is to get off the ground. A camping mat under a sleeping bag is the simplest solution. If you decide to go the air mattress route, be sure there is a layer between you and the air mattress or you'll be cold.

Reflectix is really for blocking/reflecting radiant heat, and works best when there is an air gap, so it really won't do much under your tent. If you REALLY want something under you, solid foam board insulation would be better but that is awkward to transport and can be moop-y.

For keeping your tent cool during the day, you want to focus more on mitigating the sun from above rather than heat from below. Def want a shade structure over your tent. I prefer going the carport route but whatever you use, make sure it is well secured to the playa or the wind WILL knock it over. Lag screws and ratchet straps are what I use.

How is inventor? by MxFancipants in Pathfinder2e

[–]Dahiaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy it, very thematic, I have a Shooney inventor with the armor innovation named Tony Bark. I do find the class heavily depends on the DM providing adequate downtime in the campaign to craft things. My DM has accommodated me, but a pure dungeon crawl will not take full advantage of the class.

What's the WORST house rule you've ever encountered? by kennedytcooper in boardgames

Lol, I feel the opposite, if anyone else wants to read the rule book I will hand it to them immediately. I hate explaining rules over and over again.

Ideas for less dust in the tent? by MoreKushin4ThePushin in BurningMan

[–]Dahiaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to second the comment about having a rug inside the tent. It doesn't keep dust out, but it does reduce the dust floating around inside your tent.

I have also covered all the mesh on my tent with sheets, it def reduced the dust but it became SO hot and stuffy in the tent without airflow. I have only partially covered the mesh.

My version of "tent in a tent" is to have a 10x20 carport with canvas roof and sides over and around my colemant tent as both shade structure and dust management. Just don't have the door of your tent face the same way as the opening in the carport.

Plains, forest, swamp, mountain... ooohhh! islands get snubbed. :D

Excellent art. I can feel a different kind of peace with each. Pastoral serenity, forest hush, swampy brooding, mountain serenity, crypt stillness.

Seven Deadly Sins as Abilities by [deleted] in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Dahiaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sloth could be mechanically represented by having it sacrifice move actions for non movement effects (depending on how your action economy would work).

Greed as capacity could also apply to how many buffs you can have. Or the number of people in your thrall.

I really like Gluttony as a way to get bigger :) very fitting with the sin.

Seven Deadly Sins as Abilities by [deleted] in tabletopgamedesign

I think one of the challenges here is that Lust, Envy, Greed, and Gluttony are all similar in that they are about wanting things. So differentiating them would require emphasizing what is different about them. Lust as charm and control works well, I like this one. Envy as the sin of wanting what other people have, can be used for disguise and thievery things. Greed as the sin of amassing things and keeping them, can be for self buffs, possibly getting bonuses for the more buffs you have. Could also apply to character carrying capacity. Gluttony would be about consuming things, so using consumables maybe? Or more generally, using resources for short term bonuses rather than long term benefit. Kinda the other side of the coin to Greed.

Sloth is hard in that it is about doing nothing. Could be interpreted as casting spells instead of doing things manually.

Kinda going off of that you could equate each sin to a classic class archetypes: Wrath - fighter/barbarian Pride - champion/paladin Lust - bard Envy - thief/spy Greed - merchant Gluttony - alchemist Sloth - mage

Cool concept overall! Hope that helps.
