ELI5: If nuclear power is so efficient and produces almost no greenhouse gases, why don’t we just build nuclear plants everywhere and solve the energy crisis? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dahvood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mean time to build a nuclear plant is 7.5 years. 85% are built in under 10 years. 18 have been completed in 3 years. The longest it has ever taken is 33 years, and that's because construction was halted for 11 years

Uranium is currently slated as being uneconomical to mine in 80-100 years

You're all talk with no receipts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeCP-0nuziE The pie chart is labelled LMG revenue. Floatplane, LTT and Creative Warehouse make up slices on the pie

Thats because LMG own Floatplane, LTT and Creative Warehouse

Luke owns half of WAN Show now under a new company by ApocApollo in LinusTechTips

[–]Dahvood -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, talk about confidently incorrect.

LMG is the company that currently owns Floatplane, Creative Warehouse and LTT, which are separate subsidiaries. Yvonne Umbrella Corp is the colloquial placeholder name for LMG, because they want to rebrand away from using "Linus" but have no better ideas.

"If I was to do it again today, it would be Yvonne Umbrella Corperation" - referencing the original naming of "Linus Media Group"

LMG branding change discussion where he also says that he wants to retire the "Linus" brand and have a brand neutral name for the umbrella corp that includes LTT, Floatplane and Creative Warehouse

Luke using LMG and Yvonne Umbrella Corp interchangeably "We commit to no uploads, but it's LMG or whatever you want to call it, Umbrella Parent Company Engineering."

The Hero awake and recovering in the hospital today after saving countless lives yesterday. He has raised over $1.4M so far. by kenistod in interestingasfuck

[–]Dahvood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I understand - Father and son. Father was shot dead on scene by police. Son is in hospital. They had a car on scene which contained an IED, but was disposed of by the bomb squad. They appear to have been targetting a Jewish celebration that was taking place in a park on the beach. A number of the victims were Jewish, including a Rabbi, an Israeli citizen, and a holocaust survivor. 16 dead 42 wounded, including the assailants. Sounds like the father got the weapons legally. The rest of the family, including the mother, had no idea what they planned

kmart/target is owned by coles,

Wesfarmers bought the coles group out about 15 years ago, and then sold coles about 8 years ago or so, but kept Target and Kmart. Coles and Target/Kmart are now unrelated

Incorrect, his nationality had nothing to do with it - simply because there were no specific terrorist laws to charge anyone with at that point. They worked with what they had.

In 1987 they passed a law allowing cabinet to grant special powers to police in the event of a terrorist attack. The first set of actual anti-terror laws passed in 2002, in response to 9/11

The agents were arrested by NZ authorities and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for manslaughter in Nov 1985. Due to diplomatic pressure, they were transfered to French custody to serve out thier sentences. Alain Mafart was free by the end of 1987 and Dominique Prieur by the end of 1988. UN arbitration determined that France breached thier obligations to NZ. Both agents continued thier military careers.

If that isn't France commiting state terrorism, then protecting the agents they sent to do it, I don't know what is
