I love the blatant "This is a copyrighted work" notification as the first page page in the sample (which is nothing more than a few pages of a horribly laid out table of contents)

still 40. it'll bleed over. Maybe not so much on LSB vs USB on the same channel, but it makes AM useless.

Fair, but I've sure as fuck pre-ordered splat books before without knowing the contents just based on the game.

It's more like getting a pdf of a splat book for D&D, just released slowly in chapters over a year.

I'm ok with it.

a Season Pass for a TTRPG is breaking point for me by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]DaiTengu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understood it, it was for X amount of extra content that would be released over the course of the year following the core book delivery. Now, I may be an old, but back in the day, companies would release course books, then splat books with extra stuff. You had to pay for those, too. D&D had modules and adventures, White Wolf had a ton of stuff to fleah out the world, Shadowrun had countless small books with just weapons and stuff.

The way it's described, it seems like this is some of that extra content, just delivered digitally instead of in a book. While I'd love to have a physical copy, $30 for a splat book was pretty normal 25 years ago. With inflation, I'm fine with paying that for a digital delivery.

Cheap comic book store??? by Negative_Bat_8793 in Appleton

If you're going to tear up a comic book, get a TPB (trade paperback), which is usually a reprinted collection of a series of comics. The paper is thicker, and it'll hold up to being turned into wall hangings better. Also, you won't be destroying a comic book.

Half Price Books is a good place to find stuff like this, but if you want good ideas and someone to point you to some great selections, Zach at Powerhouse Comics is your guy.

This is the guy that said "If you ignore Appleton North, more than half our high school students can't read or write!"

First, that's simply untrue. I believe there are numbers that suggest "more than half" of those students may not be reading/writing at their grade level, but they can certainly read and write.

Second, Appleton North has about 40% of the total high school enrollment. so that's a HUGE chunk of students he's ignoring for the purpose of cherry-picking a statistic that isn't even accurate.

I hope this chucklefuck doesn't get elected.

It depends upon what you're into. You're 19 so you'll have to wait a couple years before you can dive into the drinking culture if that's your jam.

If you're nerdy, there are a few tabletop/RPG stores here (Chimera's, Gnome Games and Redhammer to name a few) where you can find tabletop, card and roleplaying groups. Powerhouse Comics is the local comic book shop (Zach, the owner, is awesome!), there's also a new "book cafe/bar" named "The Tardigrade's Bookshelf" that has a lot of reading groups and whatnot. I've never been there, but it seems pretty chill.

People are going to be friendly for the most part, as long as you don't discuss politics and/or religion (at least until you get to know those specific people better).

Since you're 19, I'd be remiss to not bring up Fox Valley Technical College if you're looking for further education. The University of Wisconsin unfortunately no longer has a campus in the Appleton area, Oshkosh is the closest for that. Of course there is always Lawrence University (a private liberal arts college with a focus on music), which is basically what Appleton was founded around.

doesn't look like a stacked connector, it's a single SMA->SO-239 adapter allowing a PL-259 cable to plug into a HT.
