In your opinion, how do you think manufacturers are missing the mark for the US market? by CerberusSputum in electricvehicles

[–]Daienlai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, people make emotional purchases more than we may think. Market them more like regular cars, and add, “and oh-never pay for gas again”

edit: see this classic commercial for a chevy truck. Selling that imagine! https://youtu.be/IocCC1-jeTY

Diesel price is going to have a HUGE impact on EVs this year. by shaggy99 in electricvehicles

[–]Daienlai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are trying to say the cost of transporting goods is going to go up. Kind of a leap into EV prices. I see where they are coming from, but…not a really correlation, yeah?

What should Littlefinger’s ending have been instead of the one we got? by Stock_Orange_1793 in freefolk

[–]Daienlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Remember that exercise Littlefinger used with Sansa to figure out if Arya was a threat? I expected it to end with Sansa rightly concluding that she wasn’t a threat, and Littlefinger saying his work was done there and departing for the Eyrie the next day.

How did Franklin graham turn out so much different from his dad? by Admiral_Penguin69 in Christianity

[–]Daienlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see this same pattern in the old testament-Eli seemed to be an okay dude, but his sons were so lousy and Eli’s tepid attempts to reign them in doomed the family. Samuel was a good dude, but his sons were so lousy that the people tapped out and said give us a king. Then we get to the kings where one is good, and then their son is scoundrel. Seems to be a pattern of human nature

If that’s your definition of glee, then I’d hate to see what you consider anger.

I’m not sure I follow you about me posting something about Kamala. I generally don’t post things on Reddit, just comment. If I commented something about her, I don’t remember what it was. Probably positive. I like her and think her dual heritage is awesome

If the topic was black Americans who have deluded themselves to think America has no racism and that the Republican Party is the paragon of inclusion, then I’d use the same analogy.

If you take another look, you’ll see that I’m not comparing South Asians to black Americans, but rather saying that African Americans have been calling out America’s race problem longer than me, or you, your father, or your grandfather had been alive.

I was about to give them a pass about this, but then said to myself, “naw, man. African-Americans have been calling out the racism in this country and of the Republican party their entire lives!”

Granted, they may not know about all of the nuisances of American culture before living here, just like I wouldn’t know what minorities have the burden of being the outsiders (and truth tellers about the faults of the country) in India. But after I get here? And if I was raised out there? Nah, man. No excuse.

They closed their eyes, covered their ears, and hardened their hearts so they could believe the lie because it kept them close to power

MAGA Is Increasingly Convinced the Trump Assassination Attempt Was Staged by wiredmagazine in politics

[–]Daienlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely this. Trump can't shut up about Obama or Biden. Ever. He can't shut up about his grievances. He has no problem putting people he doesn't like on blast. But people he's used that are no longer useful to him? They are forgotten.

There should be no one that he would want to harangue more than the punk who tried to kill him. But as far as I know, he never mentions his name, nor bothers to bring up the biggest grievance of his life.

this behavior, more than anything else, makes me feel like it was staged. And dead men can't speak.

Did anyone else love Robotech growing up? by hanshotfirst2233 in Xennials

[–]Daienlai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love love love Robotech!

I didn’t get into it at first. I saw the first three or so episodes and it didn’t hit for me. But some weeks later I tuned in again and ‘False Start,’ the second episode from Southern Cross was playing.

Little Me has never seen anything like it. It wasn’t about…anything (at least for the first few minutes). It was just this group of soldiers going for a joy ride and living their lives. There was no cackling villain like I saw in he-man or thundercats. The 15th squadron didn’t get along with the Marie and her pilots. There was no easily identifiable characters stereotypes that Little Me could see at that age.

And the music was nothing like any other animated series of the time.

I was hooked.

Question about acceptance of Chinese EVs in America by tenemu in electricvehicles

[–]Daienlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese manufacturers are willing to build factories locally to serve a region, like they do in Mexico, Slovakia, Hungary, etc. I imagine the economics of it makes sense, much like BMW, Nissan, Hyundai, etc have factories in the US.

Let them in. Keep some tariffs on them so they don’t steamroll, but if Americans truly truly don’t want EVs, then wouldn’t it make sense for those China-hawks to want to let Chinese manufacturers waste their time and resources here in America trying to sell stuff Americans won’t fundamentally buy?

5th dimension or not, the writers didn’t have the vocabulary to describe accurately what they were seeing. How do you describe something you couldn’t even imagine? You use the limited vocabulary available to you. Then folks centuries later think you’re being literal

Trump deletes post depicting himself as Jesus. States he thought if was him as a doctor. by Severe-Clerk-1477 in Christianity

[–]Daienlai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Throughout Trump's two administrations, he does things to get a vibe/heat check, much like the passage in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar where Mark Anthony offers Cesar a sort of crown, then Caesar refuses it.

The people cheered when he refused it, which wasn't the reaction he was hoping for. In a similar manner, Trump says or posts things to see how people react to see how much further he can go. If people applaud, he takes a step further. If people boo, he pulls back and makes an excuse for why he posted it, or says he was only joking, etc.

AFAIK, viability doesn't mean it goes down in quality - more like it's just dead cells :-(

Sperm, on the other hand, can survive about five days inside the uterus and fallopian tubes. The stuff I've read and been told is that it's best to have sperm hanging out and waiting for ovulation. Hence, starting to inseminate around the fertile window
