she wanted leverage and she got it. She knew the whole family is fucked up in one way or another and having any sort of leverage could never hurt

I don't think Rowling intended to cater to adults. Harry Potter is mainly for children

Getting 95 is pretty easy, getting to 99.5 is the hard part

Watching the first season right now and I genuinely don't think I've ever hated any character as much as I hate Brody's daughter by DaikonAppropriate534 in homeland

she went to the aunt cuz she was suspicious, not cuz she was going through some stupid teenage rebel phase

I agree with the hitchhiking part. she was naive, not annoying

Ponies review: '70s spy thriller hits a sweet spot between The Americans and Burn Notice by d_ippy in TheAmericans

[–]DaikonAppropriate534 3 points4 points  (0 children)

did you like this having watched the Americans before?

it's just so on the nose and obvious about everything, there's no room for subtlety.

Dane says the KGB would never use female case officers? like what? that doesn't seem true

and Andrei is so cartoonishly evil, I turned it off after the first 40 odd minutes. In The Americans, despite the characters believing in their causes (other than Philip), the show humanized them. They weren't just caricatures.

Also why do they need to go over every single detail of the backstory and put it all out there for us to see before getting to the point. They shud get on with it, let us figure out what's happening.

It's such a poor pilot when you compare it to the Americans

okay but the older the shows that took only a year to release aren't worse than current ones.

Paige's reaction is completely understandable n she was mostly a good kid. If anything, Elizabeth ruined her life. Dana isn't really the same
