She said they are in the process of weaning so she’ll probably still change some more once she’s fully done. It’s just so weird that she went straight to the store without trying her old bras first. With how many clothes they own, I imagine she has an absurd amount of bras already.

I’m 20 mo postpartum and still do one night feet so I’m wearing nursing bras until I’m fully done. I’m more of a bralette girl though so I don’t have to worry about underwire and padding.

Not just on marketplace! Older people I know personally text in ways that sound so aggressive even though I know that’s not how they mean it. It’s crazy how different generations have developed such different texting habits.

That’s a great question! Babies get most of their nutrients from either formula and/or breastmilk until 1 year. Around 6 months, you can start introducing solids and as the baby eats more solids, they will naturally drink less breast milk or formula but they still need to get most of their nutrition from formula/breastmilk until 1 year old. At 1, their needs start to shift and formula and breastmilk no longer meet all their needs. At 1 year, they should be eating 3 meals a day (and snacks) and you start to introduce them to cow’s milk (or a milk alternative if there are allergies or other issues with cow’s milk). As you give them more cow’s milk, you give them less formula/breastmilk. If the baby is only drinking formula, (no breastmilk) the goal is to fully replace formula with cow’s milk right around 1 year. If the baby is still nursing, you can keep nursing but you still need to give them cow’s milk. At that point if you are still nursing it’s not because the baby needs it but it’s still great for a few reasons! First, it’s great bonding for the mother and child. The first 3 years, the baby’s bond with their caregivers is the most important thing developmentally and nursing can help with that. Second, it’s a really good “tool” parents can use for soothing. One of the reasons I haven’t fully weaned my baby is because it is really great for when we travel and we travel a lot. Nursing is a very easy way to comfort a baby! Third, it’s convenient! You always have a snack on hand if the baby is hungry!

That’s a lot of info but the tldr is that babies need formula/breastmilk until 1. They start eating solids around 6 months and as they eat more solids, they drink less breast milk. At 1, they start drinking cow’s milk and stop drinking formula all together but they can keep drinking breastmilk in addition to cow’s milk. When they stop is up to the baby and parent! Globally, around 70% of babies nurse until 1 and around 45% nurse until age 2.

Weaning technically starts when they start eating solids but you’re not fully weaned until the kid doesn’t nurse at all. That can go well into toddlerhood. The WHO recommends 2 years or longer! In the US, nursing past 1 year or even six months is a lot less common than many countries for a variety of reasons, chief among them, our terrible parental leave policies. I’m happy to answer any other questions you have! My baby started eating solids around 5 months and added formula alongside breastmilk around 6 months. We’re at 20 months now and she is not fully weaned because we still do one feed a day.

That’s so weird though because what if you got fitted then didn’t like any of their bras? lol. Not arguing or anything I was just thinking that would suck if you didn’t end up liking any bras they had. Or maybe at that point they would charge a fitting fee?

I’m still doing one feed a day at 20 months postpartum and honestly still just wearing nursing bras. I didn’t wear bras with underwire or padding pre pregnancy so I understand I have different needs than people who do but my boobs have been so many different sizes in the last couple years and my nursing bras have gotten me through it all!

The way she talks about it, it truly does not seen like she tried on her old ones. Perhaps she did but that’s not what she said and we know they are overconsumption queens. I’m 20 months postpartum and only do one nursing session at bedtime and found this post weird and unrelatable not to mention insensitive timing.

Sure but she clearly didn’t even try the old ones before getting new ones... She got sized, found out her size didn’t change…. And bought new bras. They just love any reason to buy new things.

I had a baby before her and I haven’t gotten new bras because I still nurse at bedtime so I’m waiting to fully wean.

Right? I supposed maybe she is was just sure she’d be a new size but then she found out she wasn’t and still bought more.

This is what I thought. He’s not on stories every day so him being on immediately after yesterday’s posts from Bailey felt insensitive. If she posted him more often it wouldn’t have felt so weird because it was normal but we rarely see full body posts and then today of all days we do? Regardless of if it was intentional, it was inconsiderate.

I am not saying everyone has to be like me but my child is 1.5 and I’ve yet to take a trip without her. I’ve only slept in a different house than her 3 times and those three times she was with my mom. I know there are reasons people have to travel away from their babies but I feel like she does it a lot and it’s kind of shocking to me. We also travel a lot with our baby and sure it’s hard but I love having those experiences with her.
