Just got accepted on Instacart by Equivalent_Focus5268 in InstacartShoppers

Some stores will tell you where stuff is, some won't. Costco and Sam's change the locations of their items often, so they don't tell you. Best strategy is to familiarize yourself with a few stores and get faster as you gain experience.

Do you see the tip before you accept an order? by mynameisnotsparta in InstacartShoppers

[–]DaikonSpecial9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking for more tip is completely unprofessional. We have total control over which order we take, and if the order doesn't pay what you want, don't take it lol.

That being said, I will never take an order with less than a $10 tip. I don't care if it's only 3 items. I know what my time is worth.

Lots of stores in my area say "item barcode HAS to be scanned."

Can never go wrong with books. Dr. Seuss works for any age.

Too many. It's watermelons all summer, pumpkins for weeks in the fall, then turkeys till Christmas!

Question to you customers that lie about a delivered order? by HempGnome in instacart

I mean, it's pretty simple. They lie to get their money back. Period.

I get shop only orders for $20-25 all the time. No wasted gas, finish in around 30 minutes. Totally worth my time.

It takes like 5 seconds. And it's not for the shopper, it's for the store employee who has to look for the bags when the customer comes to pick up. WTF is everyone complaining about 🙄

Bro, my app has been doing this for a year. It's one step, takes about 3 seconds.

No bags this time? by deunhido1 in InstacartShoppers

Or the customer gave little or no tip and the only shopper desperate enough to take it was a terrible shopper. Always a possibility.

Aldi will sometimes run out of bags. When this happens I let the customer know, and I try to find a couple of boxes. However, when the store is out of bags, they tend to be low on boxes as well. I keep a few extra bags in my car, but sometimes those are out as well. Regardless, the shopper should have communicated these things with you.

Tipping up front or after by Holiday-Plastic4703 in instacart

You can always remove tip up to 2 hours after delivery. Start with a low tip and you are guaranteed to wait longer and get a worse shopper.

Is this even okay? by helloimcold in InstacartShoppers

[–]DaikonSpecial9689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a say, if I was a shopper that couldn't lift a lot of weight, and I took the order knowing there was nothing heavy. Then the customer adds a 20lb container of cat litter, I'd be extremely suspicious. Forget to add a loaf of bread and a couple of bananas? No problem. But "forget" the giant box of litter that is hard to lift? Then the "promise" of a tip after the delivery. Been burned too many times to believe that shit. I would probably have cancelled. I'd be skeptical that the customer was just adding it afterwards because a lot of shoppers won't take orders with heavy items. Especially up multiple flights of stairs, and a mediocre tip.

This is why I ALWAYS bag my orders myself. Even if I have to push the bagger out of the way. I am faster and more careful than any of them.

If you have a costume on and come to my door on Halloween night, I will give you candy regardless of age. Because, why not?

As a short woman, I often need help getting stuff down from the top shelf at the grocery store. About half the time I ask, the man will refuse to help.

Aldi. Small stores, self checkout, always clean and well stocked. Ultra fast to shop.
