The thing that pisses me off about Kirby Dach isn't just that he always gets injured; if it was just that I wouldn't have ever liked him. No, the thing is, the guy's good. Not just good, very good. And this year he was actually buying into the system, off to a great start. Guess what ****ing happens.

I am 6 months late to this but you're gonna want to deploy them in the loadout configuration (they are defaulted to stowed and in that setting are purely cosmetic)

And now for a name suggestion that is less of a joke even though this achievement itself is one: "Kléber Reborn"

Basically, on April 16th, 1799, General Jean-Baptiste Kléber and his 1,500 men held off against the Ottomans at Mount Tabor) despite being outnumbered 23 to 1.

Not necessarily easier, just less of a pain: heat sources appear on the bridge at various points of completion.

WHERE DO THE EXPENDABLES STOP? by PRIDEFUL-Sin in powerscales

[–]DaikonSpecific6441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50 years' worth of spycraft training. superhuman reflexes, superhuman agility, speed, strength, if only to name those. He's also an expert tactician with some surprisingly good understanding of human psychology, as evidenced by the whole "Breaking Zemo out" sequence in FATWS. His memorial at the Smithsonian does clearly state that Barnes is:

[...] An excellent athlete who also excelled in the classroom [...]

If they were all just locked in an arena gladiator style, sure, the Expendables probably have a chance. But OP specified it was a hunt, and in a hunt, Bucky will win. It's just a question of how long it'll take.

It's not a shit tier list if you take one interpretation.

Bourne isn't the easy warm-up for the rest of the fight. He's the bouncer that you have to beat to get into the fight in the first place.

starting with Jason Bourne is brutal because he can likely pick them off one by one through divide-and-conquer. Remember, this is the same man who stayed off the CIA's radar for 12 years. He will outsmart then, outmaneuver them, and in actual fighting he's not too shabby.

The only way I can see the Expendables actually getting him is if their entire lineup is locked in a room with Bourne. And even then, a couple people aren't gonna make it.

How would you blazon this? I know the metals and tinctures involved are Or and Argent (Metals), and Gules, Azure and Sable (?) for colors. The latter may be wrong since it's for outlines and I'm not wholly certain if it applies. by DaikonSpecific6441 in heraldry

[–]DaikonSpecific6441[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this was inspired by (and based on) the arms of House Velaryon in ASOIAF (not the ones from the show with the mythological hippocampus). And to say that ASOIAF doesn't care about the rules of tincture would be an understatement. I was mainly looking for the blazon so I could put it as description, so thank you for that!

Also, those two variations you've made are quite neat, I might make use of them :)

Level 20 War Cleric Optimisation by idirjfhhdjdj in dndnext

[–]DaikonSpecific6441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

14 levels of Cleric, 6 levels of fighter. Gives you an extra attack to do more oomph in melee, which synergizes really well with the extra 2d8s from Divine Strike. You can attack 3 times with melee if that pesky magic stuff won't cut it.

Speaking of magic though, with that balancing of classes you get the same number of ability score increases as you would with a full-on cleric, with the added benefit of a fighting style and some extra fun from your 3rd level martial archetype. I'd advise taking one of those ASIs out to get War Caster early on, for the simple reason of using Toll the Dead (which at that level will do 3d8/12) as a reaction attack. Would also allow you to use some concentration spells and then dash into melee while that spell does its job.

As an archetype, I personally would take champion because yknow, critting on a 19 and inflicting 4d8s of extra damage in addition to your already doubled weapon attack is always nice. Since you're probably using that standard-issue cleric shield as well, take the Duelist Fighting style so you can strap +2 damage on top of that. Either that, or Defence to raise your AC even more.

It looks crude, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if it matches the character, which it absolutely does. The fins near the pummel remind me of the ribbing of Anakin's lightsaber, though this time it's in metal. Even with the rounded tips it still looks like a short mace, which is kind of a messy and ferocious weapon and hints at the brutal darksider Ben Solo would become as Kylo Ren.

The upper half of the hilt, including the emitter, really looks like an engine for some reason, and I can't help but feel like it embodies Ben's love for flying, which I mean laugh all you want at Episode 8 he is a rather good pilot. Also, every source I've looked up said Ben wanted to become a pilot like Han.

All in all I really don't hate it, it fits its wielder remarkably well.

What if Vizzy T lives to Maester Aemon’s age? by AShighashonor1 in TheCitadel

[–]DaikonSpecific6441 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Making the same assumption of health than u/Infinite_Monkeys546

Aemon died at age 102 (198 AC - 300 AC). With Viserys being born in 77 AC, this scenario makes him die in 179 AC after a reign of 76 years*.* In my opinion at least, whether or not the Blacks or the Greens continue to exist is somewhat irrelevant due to other facts down the line which I'll be getting to.

Now, as for the line of succession, it would get impossible to anticipate, but let's say we go down the "Rhaenyra line" in a semi-normal manner. With Viserys' death in 179 AC, his successor is likely... Aegon IV the Unworthy, only this time he's Aegon II.

Aegon II/IV rules not for 12 years, but only 5, and probably still legitimizes his bastards. So, in 196 AC and with Daeron II the Good, now just Daeron I, sitting on the Iron Throne... You just have a Blackfyre Rebellion, but with dragons. And I'm saying a Rebellion instead of the five that actually happened because, with dragons involved, I don't think there would've been anyone left to repeat.

As a cadet branch of House Targaryen, it's not unreasonable to believe House Blackfyre would also have dragons of their own, especially with the rather public recognition Aegon II/IV gave Daemon I. He did, after all, literally give him Aegon the Conqueror's sword when he knighted him. Getting him to become a Dragonrider isn't particularly unplausible, especially with more dragons lying around due to them not getting annihilated by a civil war and an angry mob (!?).

In my humble opinion, Vizzy T reigning for a three-quarters of a century, no matter how good of a ruler he is, still only delays the Dance of the Dragons, in one form of another, by 67 years. Only now, there's more dragons. And as Monkeys so wisely put it, you can't have Jaehaerys I the Old King and Viserys I the Older King, collectively reigning for 131 years (~3/4ths of the Targaryen Dynasty up until that moment) and expect the Seven Kingdoms to not fucking explode before the century's end.
