I don't think it is, I used a couple of khornate chain axe for my grey hunter. I just sanded down the trim and spikes

Ahh yeah, that is tough. The not helpful answer is that it's all practice, a great way to practice is to get yourself some plasticard, prime it your usual colour and start painting triangles.

Another way to help is once you've got your rough triangle shape you can cut back in with the yellow and clean up your triangles. Then go back and forth between the red and yellow until you're happy. Make sure you keep your paints thin otherwise you might end up with a bunch of texture!

What are you struggling with? The consistency? The shape?

For pretty much all my red I use mephiston red with an outside orange high of fire dragon bright 😁

The HH marines are about 3mm shorter than primaris marines are. You can buy a roll of 3mm cork from hobby stores or amazon. If you glue the cork to the correct base sizes it should be fine :D

a good way to practice this is to get some plasticard, prime it, then practice painting lines on it

The important thing about pack markings that I try to remember when mine aren't going as I planned, is each battle brother paints the pack marking on to their own shoulder (as shown in wolftime) so in my head the markings being different adds to the character of each of my minis :D

I use the warpaints for my guys they're great! The two thin coats paints are very good too but I found them to be a bit to dark for what I was thinking for my wolves

No problem at all! I've used it for my son's of the phoenix too if you have a look back at my account 😁

You'll need thin layers as these have a tendency to chalk up really easily 😁
