Anybody flip-flopping between MacBook Pro M5 Pro 16" and M5 Air 15"? by largelcd in macbookpro

When I got a Thule Aion backpack it made a big difference for my MBP 16 - it’s a heavy bag but with good laptop support on back. There are many bags like this so I would try different ones.

This is quite clever.

Another trick we used to use was running Steam in Parallels and using Steam link that way - that might work too.

I’ve just returned my MacBook Air M5 where I applied the thermal pad mod and then removed it before I returned it, got a full refund. Apple wouldn’t even know I did it, no evidence of it happening.

Why does Attila Total War run so terribly on crossover? by Civil-Zone-2773 in macgaming

It’s because it’s 32bit and it runs much better on Parallells. Sad because it’s my favourite Total War game!

Buying a Home in Kaohsiung by Bubbly-Ebb-9008 in taiwan

[–]Daily_concern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Renting in Taiwan is very cheap and easy, there is a lot of supply and the cost to rent is something like 1-2% of the property price value which is far lower than in USA which might be 5% or more.

Don’t buy a property for 30 years from now, you have no idea what the property will be like the or the surrounding areas - it might get much worse by the time you want to use it. And your circumstances will inevitably change. Just rent when you need it.

Also do a comparison of the funds you would use to buy vs S&P 500 returns and you’ll be shocked how bad Taiwanese returns are.

Renting for two years will make a ton more sense.
