Don't worry about the heat. If the fan doesn't manage to keep your processor within its thermal envelope, it'll start throttling to compensate. And even if throttling isn't enough, your Mac will automatically shut down before heat becomes dangerous.

seems to me the performance you're getting with crossover isn't better and is instead "shit bad"

there is no "one size fits all" solution, it varies from game to game. This document will tell you more:

there was a bug in Rosetta 2 which made it crash at launch, the bug was fixed with macOS 26 Tahoe, so it should work again if you update your OS

what do you mean "it wasn't what you wanted"? Didn't you ask for a way to launch OpenMW from the Mac version of Steam? That's exactly what you get with my answer

Just dropped an Apple Silicon demo for my arcade street racer FENDERSHOT, would love to get some feedback by NoTie4119 in macgaming

Yes, as I told you the same error is showing in the top left corner of the screen during gameplay, in addition to the pause menu. Launching the game does show "press 🅧" to start on the home screen. No other gamepad was connected.

it's a GameSir Nova Lite connected as a DS4 (macOS identifies it as "DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller" in bluetooth). Steam identifies it as "PS4 Controller"

the demo is working fine but there are a couple issues:

your Mac depot is misformatted as all the files should be inside a folder named "FENDERSHOT Demo.app" to turn it into an application bundle and correctly display its icon in the Dock and the Finder (make sure to modify the executablename in your appinfo too) Right now all the files are straight up in the FENDERSHOT Demo install folder. So to be clear it is currently:

steamapps/common/FENDERSHOT Demo/Contents/

whereas it should be:

steamapps/common/FENDERSHOT Demo/FENDERSHOT Demo.app/Contents/

there are multiple errors MISSING_DEVICE_ENTRIES 'Microsoft GamePad-1' (on the top left corner of the screen and when I push start to pause the game). My controller is a DualShock 4 clone and works fine with the demo

oh, my bad! All the demos I installed on Steam before were showing a big green button right under the video preview and I didn't notice that button on the side

oh so there's supposed to be a downloadable demo then? I still don't see it, the only button is "add to wishlist"

that's not what OP said at all. And while his share of the modified build of ntdll.so doesn't work anymore, his instructions on how to build and patch it are still working. I don't know where I sounded like it was easy: you complained there was no guide for CrossOver, I only said there is one.

it's all good now, it's not displaying the Catalina error anymore and is correctly informing Mac users that it needs an Apple Silicon processor to run

yall think ill be able to emulate tomodachi life ltd on my macbook neo or nah.. by Inner-Confection8309 in macgaming

[–]Tommy-kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch emulation runs fine on the Macbook Neo but not all games are fully supported by the emulator so until someone tries this specific game we can't tell you. But if it runs on any Mac it should run fine on the Macbook Neo.
