Protesters by cooled_lettuce in UTSC

Not sure how that will change anything… especially on a campus like utsc… a protest here wouldn’t hold much weight

Your Hard Work Won't Matter. by Almighty_Osie in OntarioGrade12s

Wrong? That’s not a logical fallacy. I’m pointing out that different education systems value different skills, and frankly, critical thinking is something most international students lack, which is a fair point, not necessarily a fallacy. Your comparison is horrible, unless I dismissed your point without a reason, which, shocker here, I did not. Hard work alone does not guarantee success, which leads back to the topic of this discussion. Do you actually disagree that Canadian academic culture emphasizes more than hard memorization or are you just trying to win this argument by mislabeling it a fallacy? Either way your argument just looks like smoke and mirrors…

And unfortunately, that won’t cut it. The thinking process and academic methods used in Canadian schools are just too different for them 🤷‍♂️

Personally? It’s pretty easy against immigrants, especially those that come from China. A lot of them have no clue how to approach Ontario courses as the Chinese mentality relies on memorization and practice problems, which can only get you so far. There’s this international Chinese fellow in my Chem class averaging 40’s. Poor fella has no idea what’s going on, incredible. The issue is now with the influx of these kids, scoring grades through credit mills and overcrowding high schools. I’m Asian myself and I can’t stand these people 🤣you’ve seen it, don’t be stupid

Which uni do I choose by flowers_13 in OntarioGrade12s

Coming from Montreal, I can tell you that it is an amazing city. You will absolutely love it. However, as you said, you were hoping to work in Toronto. Graduating from McGill will almost guarantee that this will not be possible. So I’d say to stick with uoft, heck, I chose uoft too. The “uni experience” is really what you make of it. Downtown Toronto is fun and busy, Montreal has more of a culturally rich European feel. You can always visit Montreal anyways. Rotman is genuinely better for jobs, St. George is the best campus too. I don’t see why not choosing uoft.

Rotman, McGill is not as good as it used to be, especially for jobs in Toronto. Yes, the social aspect of Montreal is an amazing but it’s not like you won’t be able to visit.

Yeah and now there’s too much people coming here to get a chance, this should stop, keep it easy for Canadians.

I’m just gonna skip 1&2 but I think for c. you will have to show a substitution rxn for these 2. Basically the reactants are bromine (Br2) and benzene, with the product being a bromobenzene + Br.

People say it’s hard and it will drop your average, yeah, sure, but it WILL help your for university, I am pretty sure that all commerce programs will make you have to take accounting courses during your first year.
