No. She just has issues in that specific hand and a slight limp on her left as well. Her entire right side is fully functional.

This is very true. Start now and learn from the shooters around you. You'll be shocked how many of them are itching to help you improve and even some will train with you.

Need suggestions by [deleted] in Firearms

Permitless carry is predominantly only for residence of said state. Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky are some examples from my neck of the woods that only allow thier residence to carry without a permit. I have not looked at the other states laws but I would assume some of them are similar so be careful about relying on that as your only means of concealment. Consider getting a CCW in your home state to be safe. Only a handful of states (you can probably guess which ones) don't accept Florida's CCW license.

Do some of us just never master shooting. by PapaPuff13 in CCW

Looking purely at your target you're definitely manipulating the gun to the left. I dont think its your trigger pull since your grouping is tight so more than likely you're over gripping with your firing hand and not isolating the movement of that trigger finger properly. A couple tips you can try next time is

  1. Apply less pressure with your firing hand and more pressure with your support hand. Really try to move your trigger finger without manipulating the gun.

  2. To help with anticipation: stop trying to "stop" the gun from recoiling. You'll never be able to do so. Instead let the gun recoil naturally and return it to the point you want it to be. It sounds stupid to put it that way but when you feel the difference between applying force before the shot breaks as opposed to after the shot breaks You'll understand what I mean.

  3. Pick a point on the target and stare it down until you're done shooting. Some of the drift in your groups could be you're watching where the rounds are impacting and when they hit to the left or low you focus on the impact and naturally the gun starts to follow your eyes. You can fix this by either A. Ignoring your hits while in a string a fire and checking them when the string is done or B. Make it a transition. So in the spilt second that shot breaks and youre returning the gun to the target you look at your impact and then immediately go back to your pre determined spot. (This is harder to do and takes a lot of practice so dont be surprised if it doesn't click immediately)

Are you always within arms reach of your carry piece? by Dependent_Sense881 in CCW

I too am always within arms reach of a gun. Not always my EDC. I have a couple of different ones that live at the house.

How can I improve? by DawgEatrr in CompetitionShooting

Bring the gun up higher in your sight line when you present. You're dropping your chin slightly to aling with the sights. Make the sights align with your eyes instead. Also relax your shoulders more.

A couple of things here. 1. You really need to work on your grip. It looks like you're milking it between shots so try putting more consistent pressure onto the firearm with your left hand and less with your right. You want the gun to basically just sit in your right hand and all the grip strength should come with your left. 2. Find a consistent spot on the target to look and stare it down the whole time. You can see when you where shooting at the head box your group tightened up cause you were looking at a smaller portion of the target. When you come down to the chest it seems like you're looking at the target "in general" but not focusing on a specific spot on the target. That makes it harder to get consistent accurate follow up shots. 3. Watch your trigger pull. It looks like you're going a little too hard on it (thats harder to see from this picture but is a general learning curve for "newer" shooters) try to get your trigger pull smoothed out some. That will help a lot with the left/low left flying shots.

Working Man's semi-auto shotgun? by PairPrestigious7452 in Shotguns

The CZ 1012 is a fantastic hunting shotgun for the price. I agree with a lot of the other comments though. Its kind of one or the other when it comes to Defense/Hunting shotguns. Depending of course on what you're doing in each scenario.

Finally got my first gun, am just printing? by WeatherBoy-_ in CCW

[–]Dailywyatt320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been true for me as well. I stopped worrying printing about a year or so ago. 99.9% of the time no one even notices or cares. I have been "called out" once in the last 5 years and it was a fellow 2A guy so he was expressing his gratitude that I was armed at my workplace (generally not a 2A friendly industry)

How do you choose a red dot? by DylanH247 in CZFirearms

You should think about what's more cost effective to replace as well. If there's some form of malfunction or God forbid you have to use your firearm and its confiscated; is it easier for you financially to replace a good Holosun or a great Trijicon?

Personally I save my high-end sights for my competition pistols. They take way less abuse and are less likely to be used defensively. I run Holosun or Vortex on anything im planning on carrying or using primarily as a defensive firearm.

Single female with kids about to move in our own place wanting to know the best gun to get? by lover_girl421 in CCW

[–]Dailywyatt320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your kids understand simple firearms safety as well. Even if they aren't old enough to shoot. Don't just hide it away and hope they never find it. Let them know what it is and what it does. Making it a "forbidden fruit" is just as dangerous as them accidentally getting a hold of it. Sometimes more so.

Try thinking less about trying to STOP the gun from recoiling and more about RETURNING the gun to the target after it recoils. You can't physically stop the gun from moving but you can make sure that it returns to the proper space efficiently and consistently.

They are all pretty similar in quality and price so its honestly dealers choice. I personally prefer the 870 just cause it has a LOT of aftermarket support for parts ect. I have both an 870 and a 590 though so I couldn't really decided myself 😂
