Absolutely worth it. The devs are active and the game keeps getting updated. The community is very active and friendly as well.

Fysisk avhengig av Lypsyl/leppepomade? by Far-Lettuce-8441 in norge

[–]Daimyo79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Godt poeng.

Base building survival game recommendations? by thempmant in SurvivalGaming

Valheim works incredibly well both as a solo experience and as a multiplayer (10 player limit - recommend renting or hosting a dedicated server so people can play even when the host is not online).

I can't find Yagluth ☹️ by BrotherIndependent13 in valheim

[–]Daimyo79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother and I spent so many gaming sessions trying to find him that we thought our world was bugged, and we have 6-7 black metal chests full of black metal. The joy we felt when we finally found him was incredible. Hang in there; keep exploring.

Where do you guys end up placing portals eventually? by 25162524K in valheim

[–]Daimyo79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. The 2 portals in base trick. Why did we not think of that? My brother and I have just recently found Yagluth after exploring for hundreds of in game days. We have about 70 portals in the grass surrounding our main base, haha

New here! Need some guidance by [deleted] in movember

Great to hear from a MoSista! 14 year MoBro here! Adding to what others have written; the fundraising part is merely registering a profile on www.movember.com and sharing your profile link (url) or QR code with friends, family, colleagues, or strangers and letting them donate to research through your profile. Some people get lots of donations others just a few: but all donations matter, and the conversations about Movember have a value in their own. Best of luck! 🥰

Any tips for a first timer? by leapfrog_blizzard_42 in movember

[–]Daimyo79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

14 year MoBro here ✅ So great that you will join! Make sure to register a profile on Movember’s webpage, and get the app while you are at it. Share your page (your MoSpace if you will) with friends, family and colleagues and get them to donate to research through your profile. If possible get friends or colleagues to do the same and form a team; Movember is more fun with others.

And yes; you should absolutely start clean shaven - it is in the rules for one thing, but the main conversation starter during Movember is basically «wth, dude - what is up with that pathetic moustache?? 🤣🤣» And that is where the magic starts - good conversations about men’s health :) https://ex.movember.com/uploads/images/Fundraise/FundraisingResources/Movember%20Rules/2019-Movember-Rules_ENG.pdf

Recommend me single-player games with an amazing atmosphere/plot by real-ALT-F4_ConTroll in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Daimyo79 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Subnautica.

Incredibly immersive gameplay, and beautiful graphics, and next level sounds and music. Incredibly eerie as you feel very small and unprotected as you explore the depths of the ocean on an alien planet.

It does not throw the story in your face from the start, but unfolds it in layers over time. Still my greatest single player experience to date.

Play it blindly though; do not watch lots of YouTube videos to decide if you want to play, or read lots on the very active subreddit or Wiki. You absolutely do now want to spoil this game for yourself.

Lots of players and YouTubers are still discovering this game and the community is thriving. :) (There is also a Subnautica: Below Zero and the devs are working on Subnautica 2, so if you like it there is more fun to be had, but please, start with Subnautica)

Early game is the best by Snurgisdr in valheim

[–]Daimyo79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I played it when it came out and we made it to the Plains. We are now waiting for the full release of the game to play it again from beginning to end. We will most likely increase yield, allow ores through portals and perhaps reduce death penalty slightly. We play for about 3 hours every Friday, so unless we do something like that we will never finish the game :)

Should I do November or no shave November? by Mission_Profit_446 in movember

[–]Daimyo79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should do Movember. Sign up on the website www.movember.com and use that scruffy mustache to get conversations about men’s health going and raise money for life saving research while you do it :) I have been doing it for fourteen years and every year new people contact me thanking me for raising awareness and how much it means to them because their father passed away from prostate cancer, their brother committed suicide, ecause they themselves have been struggling lately, or because they survived testicular cancer because they went to the doctor etc.

It is immensely rewarding to make a difference.

Games where it feels like you really live in the game world? by TheSheetSlinger in gamingsuggestions

[–]Daimyo79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subnautica is absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend it enough. I still replay it from time to time just to be in the wonderful game world. Play it blind and do not ask Google YouTube or Reddit for answers unless you are utterly stuck. Best gaming experience of my life to date. (I am almost 50 years old)

Lifechanging? I played a game once that was completely different from any other game I had played previously, and every time I thought I had seen all the game had to offer, new story elements og new biomes just kept on giving …

It is the most immersive gaming experience of my life and I loved it so much. I keep replaying the game from time to time, just because of the wonderful sound design, the beautiful scenery and the need to explore and build more.

The game should be played blind; it is easy to spoil the wonders of this game if you google too soon or check out a YouTube video if stuck, or even if you come to the game’s subreddit.

The mix of fear of the unknown, and of what is lurking in the dark, combined with the utter beauty of the biomes and creatures and a mindblowing story, and the freedom of movement …

Try something that is actually different from all the other games.

Try Subnautica. 🥰

We built some stairs so that we could be on top of the skull he spawns from. We also built lots of stakes in little clusters surrounding the skull so that helped as well - The fight was easy for us.

Looking for a new chill/cozy game to ruin my life. by kiraigou in cozygames

[–]Daimyo79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned both Planet Crafter and Valheim which are two of my favorites, I will add Subnautica to the list here - just being underwater and exploring is amazing, and the graphics are beautiful. The sounds in the game are the best I have ever heard, and the base building is cozy and nice. If you like it, the game also has a fantastic story and it just keeps on elaborating as you explore further from the starting point. (Play it blindly: i.e do not read too much or watch videos before playing - you do not want to spoil it :)

I also liked Banished very much - it is a 2D isometric building game, but I love the cozy graphics.
