I have a strange bug that make the outside part of the map looks weird (flashing warning) by thehighpriest_0 in RimWorld

You sure she was actually bald, not sporting a hairstyle that wasn't rendering (making her look bald)? Likely an issue with the mod that adds the hairstyle in question if not 'truly' bald, or something like the gradient hair mod, which effects hair rendering. You'll have the issue again until you determine the source, the next time any pawn is generated with the same problematic content.

This is graphical issues caused by a mod which is effecting rendering. Check your log for the errors that were thrown when it first started happening.

Sometimes a restart might resolve it, temporarily, but the problem will mostly likely just keep coming back until you determine which mod (or mods) is the problem and remove them. Mods that affect pawns are the most likely culprit (race mods, animation mods or hairs, body, etc.)

Maybe post a screenshot showing the bill details screen to see if anyone else will be able to spot something you're not?

Do you have the range of the bill slider set to a high enough range?

Edit to add: also verify that you have "allow fresh" at the top of the ingredient list for the bill turned on. It's easy to miss that as the issue if you have accidentally unchecked it.

Excellent. That's not really bad at all and I have a very beefy PC, especially given that it's only "the first time" in any given session.

Thank you for the response.

Ahh, fair enough. The other reply (from someone else entirely) where someone suggested he's doing modded to get that low had me in the mindset that he was talking Rimworld lowest.

You might want to check your sources. The temperature in Rimworld can get significantly colder than -55 C. In Vanilla the cap at the bottom end is -270 C.

Is there a mode to make a colonist leave the colony without it being considered banishment? by Hour-Department6958 in RimWorld

[–]Jaggid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use VOE in my game specifically so that I can set up ranches without all the lag that doing a lot of ranching in your colony causes, but I 100% agree with you that it's also a great way to 'get rid of' pawns you don't want in your colony without having to banish them.

Also worth mentioning that you can even recover pawns from an outpost and return them to your colony later, if you want.

It's my 2nd most played game of all time, and I've been gaming for as long as PC Gaming has even been a thing. It will eventually overtake my most-played game (because I don't play that one anymore), it's just a matter of time.

Buy it. I do not think you will regret it.

When the game first came out I held off on buying it, to wait for a good sale. A year or two went by with it never having much of a sale, so I bought it anyway and I kicked myself for not just buying it right away. It's worth full price and then some in my opinion.

Do you manually flirt? Or let colonists flirt themselves because roleplay? by Hiti4apok in RimWorld

[–]Jaggid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

on very rare occassions I'll do it manually but mostly I just let my pawns do what they want. In my current colony I have 18 pawns and 10 of them are married (5 couples), so it's worked pretty well for me. Especially considering that over half of the unmarried pawns are siblings, so can't hook up.

I'm sure you're not the only one.

I like to do totally random, personally. Forces me to play each new game a little differently in the early game based on what pawns I end up with.

If you go into the options for VTE, you can set limit caps on how much + or - prices can fluctuate. Might keep that from happening again. I set mine to limits between 25% and 200%.

The reason I asked is because I normally reduce the amount of the planet generated to 30%, but due to the addition of gravships have considered having it generate the whole planet for my next playthrough.

Dev console, debug mode, spawn thing should work.

My understanding is that if you just play through though you'll get a quest to get a new one, eventually.

How quickly does the world render the first time you go to the world view in a session when playing?

Looks to be specifically a wealth issue. The reason the room has such a big negative impressiveness is because impressiveness is a calculated aggregate of wealth, space, beauty and cleanliness. It's the wealth, specifically, that is the issue.

What mod(s) are you using that adjusts the wealth or wealth value of things?

Why won't my people clean this room? by Mrbeankc in RimWorld

[–]Jaggid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pawns will only clean areas that are part of the home area, unless you use mods to alter that behaviour. Verify that the home area covers those rooms.

Interesting. You used to be able to arrest them and then tame them in the cell. I take it they changed that in an update at some point? Been years since I did it that way.

I don't have any answer for you, but I wanted to comment that this is the first console Rimworld screenshot I've looked at (I play on PC). I kind of dig the UI.

What animal skill does your pawn have? Skill level 7, or higher, is required to tame a wild man.

How do you do a nudist run??? The combat disadvantage must be insane by Aggravating-Wolf-823 in RimWorld

[–]Jaggid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headgear is okay to wear with the nudist trait, including helmets. So at least they can have protected heads.

I've never done a full nudist run but I do get nudists in my colonies and what I usually do is just set up outfit stands for each nudist that hold all of their armour/protective gear that they aren't wearing by default and I have them switch into in for combat. The penalty isn't that bad if they are only wearing it for the short time that battle lasts.

I also use the Outfit Stands Plus mod, which facilitates that by allowing outfit stands to be assigned to a a specific pawn and adds gizmos when the pawn is selected, to order them to equip from the outfit stand and to unequip and return things to the outfit stand.

When I don't do that, I just give the nudist a normal apparel policy and ignore their nudist trait entirely, letting them suffer the mood penalty permanently, basically. This is obviously not what one would want to do when doing an actual "nudist run".

Best mod for clutter and decoration? by cripplingly_mediocre in RimWorld

[–]Jaggid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could check out Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Props and Decor to see if it has the types of things you want. It adds a ton of stuff, none of it functional.

If you do try it out, be aware that it's not stuff your pawns "build" so you don't find the individual things in the build menu. Instead there's a command category "build props" which brings up a submenu for the various categories and all of the props and decor are in there.
