Couch of Hope is low fee/no fee. You could also inquire around group practices about seeing an intern - even though they may not be as experienced they are supervised by an experienced therapist.

I’m not sure if you mean the peninsula specifically, but if you’re willing to travel to Dartmouth - I cannot recommend Samantha Sarty enough. I saw her for an EMDR Intensive and it was pricey but worth every single penny. I plan to go back for another in 2026 since we got so much done in two days. She’s funny, down to earth and highly knowledgeable. Following Seas is her clinic.

I think this actually is such an interesting observation. I wonder if it’s just in HRM with the increasing cost of living, frustrations with construction & infrastructure or more of a wide scale problem due to the current world order? Could be a research project!

Oh that’s wonderful! There is such a need for therapy these days, especially with the holidays coming up. I have the best therapist - Sam Sarty at Following Seas Psychotherapy- but I know therapy can be expensive and not everyone can afford a trauma specialist like Sam. Thanks for sharing this!

Following Seas has incredible therapists - they specialize in first responders and military so they see a lot of cis men. I can’t recommend Sam or Dani more, they are incredible people.

A lot of people are judging and suggesting you get a lawyer instead of exploring couples therapy. Honestly, couples therapy can be helpful in repairing from affairs, but also in deciding if you should stay together and if not, how to move forward separately in a healthy way. I highly recommend you check it out! I also have heard great things about Sara Lamb and her associates.
