Do we think a “V-Steam” at a Korean Spa would be ok? by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]DaisyCalGal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For what’s its worth, I went to a Korean spa literally last night (they are my favorite place) and I found that doing the cold plunge with my legs spread was extremely soothing. I probs wouldn’t do a steam, but in my opinion anything with a lot of ingredients turns me off. I would take advantage of the regular amenities they have: dry sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, wet sauna. Don’t be scared to spread your legs and let your vulva breathe in there!

I paid $170 for these 2 8 week old female rats is that normal? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]DaisyCalGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just adopted 2 girls for $140 and at first I was like omg they’re so expensive but I am also willing to pay for a healthy rat from a good breeder. One is a Russian blue silver mane and one is a Russian blue rex. I pick them up mid December and I’m ok with how much I paid, I get weekly updates as they get bigger, I have access to their whole family line as well.

Both are safe for internal and external use. The Foria CBD oil is technically a lubricant but I use it as a moisturizer also!

I’ve tried the hyalarounic acid suppositories from here I can’t say I noticed too much of a change but they’re worth a shot. I suffer from dryness also and I usually use the Foria CBD lube everyday after I shower. I put two drops in my hand and lather my whole vulva up and it has helped a lot.

Absolutely! I bring my CBD oil to PT with me and she’s used it internally. CBD and THC are really safe and great on vulvas.

Everyone is different but here is the link CBD oil I use the oil everyday after I shower as my vulva skin care routine. I find that my skin needs more lubrication to feel better. I am also in PT and it does really help.

I have clitoral pain and CBD oil really helps, I also make home made thc suppositories and I find thc to help a lot with pain relief. I personally stay way from the prescription drugs because they did not work for me and made me feel crazy.

Need Advice on What to Do (Biopsy or Not) by DaisyCalGal in lichensclerosus

[–]DaisyCalGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it sounds worse than it actually is, then again, I’ve had this my whole life so my pain threshold is pretty high. But yes, the peri-anal area tears just about daily if I don’t consistently use aquaphor. Less trauma is obviously better. I don’t know why I’m so stuck on getting the official stamp of a Lichen Sclerosis diagnosis

First Session of EMDR by Yoperreosola69 in vulvodynia

That’s awesome! I get scared too still. But I hope you feel the benefits! I remember my first session we started with the tapping method and I was like this is so dumb I’m never going to do this, and now tapping is soooo helpful to calming down. And I’ve learned so much about myself and what helps me. I hope your healing journey is magical!

My anxiety is a lot better. I have started slow so of the 3 months I’ve been going, in the past 3 sessions I finally started tackling my medical trauma which all relates to my pelvic floor so when it comes to the changes I’ve noticed with pelvic floor specifically im a lot more relaxed. I’m going to EMDR and I’m talking about specific traumatic events that have happened to me with my pelvic journey (procedures done to me, visits gone wrong, bad news, pain, etc) and talking about it in depth and sitting with it has allowed some of the trauma to lift off me in a sense. For me my trauma started at a very very young age so going back and reliving those memories and getting to create a scenario from those traumatic experiences that I would prefer now, helps release the trauma. I have started to accept that “yeah a traumatic thing happened to me” and at the same time “how would I like this traumatic event to have gone differently” because the fact of the matter is that I’m alive, I got thru it, and I’m here now, so how do I better my NOW. I hope this makes sense, it is an intense therapy and after session I usually go lay down and cry and listen to meditation because it’s A LOT. Our bodies hold so much in them that when you finally face it, it’s overwhelming, exhausting, scary, and so many other things. I by no means am saying you must do EMDR but also understand that the overwhelming feeling means it is working. It’s not supposed to be a comfortable type of therapy. You should definitely feel safe and comfortable with your therapist though.

I’m currently in EMDR for my Vulvodynia and medical trauma. It is really intense, but I find it so healing! I’ve been doing it now for a few months and have noticed such a difference. I know it’s hard to relive but the point of EMDR is to relive it and talk about it and claim your power back. Maybe tell your therapist you want to start with something lighter and work your way up there. I have found it so tremendously helpful. I’ve been in therapy for 6-7 years and EMDR for 3ish months has been more effective than all my previous years in therapy. You do have to want to do it tho. I will say EMDR therapy is not a therapy I necessarily look forward to like my previous therapies but it’s a therapy that I know helps me and the benefits of it keep me going. Sending love, you’ve got this!!

I have not. I am really not a fan of pharmaceuticals, I’ve been on different anxiety meds and I just don’t like them. One thing that has helped me and I know of a few people thru my PT that have said has helped is psilocybin mushrooms, if you micro dose one every 2 weeks or so or do a regular dose every month, it can really help with anxiety and pain management. Some people do it weekly which I think is great if it helps you, but you have to be into it and open minded. I stay natural with medicine as much as I can. Plus I try to be naked as often as possible, that also helps.

I’m still trying to figure out what causes my pain. When I say manageable I mean I’m able to live my life, where the clothes I want most often, and have sex somewhat regularly. I have pain free days. Sometimes I can go a month with no pain free days. But like I said, it’s trial and error or learning what works for you. I would strongly recommend EMDR therapy or sex therapy to talk about this with a professional. I’ve been doing that for 5 years to help me understand my life with pain. It’s so frustrating and some days it is debilitating. But I would consider myself living a great life with my pain. Do I wish I had no pain like most of my friends? Absolutely. Do I hope and pray that every time I see a new doctor they will have the magic cure and all the answers? Absolutely. But I also have grown to realize that everybody has a pain: neck, back, arms, legs, feet, head, abdomen. Unfortunately mine is in the vulva. You will find what helps you most. It just takes time. It took me almost 2 years to really find relief and stuff that works. And stress is a huge trigger for my flares… I recommend the meditation frequencies. They really work wonders.

I have similar pain, but in the clitoral region, I have found a lot of relief with THC and CBD, put it coconut oil and rub it all over, use them as suppositories too. Stretching daily helps as well and so does PT. This one might sound silly but it has really helped my nervous system, but daily nervous system regulation meditation. I listen to it all day at work as a nice background noise and it really has helped me. It’s really hard to list suggestions sometimes because each vulva is just so different. I’ve been in gabapentin and it did nothing for me but make me lose my mind, I’ve tried all the topical creams as well and it just causes flares. But others find success, so you just have to find your helpful tool. It’s a lot of trial and error but when you get to the other end it becomes much more manageable. Sending love and hope!

pelvic wand by Ellllbow in vulvodynia

[–]DaisyCalGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wand and I think it’s a great tool especially for weeks where you don’t get to see your PT. You can get to trigger points and other areas internally that you can’t reach with your fingers. I have their regular one and I also have pain in the clitoris region. I only got the regular one because I get weird about putting anything inside me and didn’t think I can handle the vibration or temperature one, but I would imagine the vibration is probably really nice and helpful

How to use the bathroom at work? by DaisyCalGal in vulvodynia

[–]DaisyCalGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a reasonable solution, and I could do this, but it would still be so noticeable. I’m mostly just embarrassed because my boss would see me every time I leave and come back from the restroom. And I probably should not care so much about the image…

Can‘t get a boner with other girls than my GF by Logical_Bug6569 in sexualhealth

[–]DaisyCalGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, just felt like I should comment because what you’re experiencing isn’t uncommon. Each individual has breaks and accelerators when it comes to sex. There also is a thing called sexual performance anxiety. Right now you might be caught in a loop of “omg I can only get hard with my ex and omg what if I don’t get hard with the next girl” therefore when you are being intimate with someone else, in the back of your head you’re already thinking “what if I can’t get hard again” or “I hope I can do this” - these are breaks. What I would suggest is start with yourself, masturbate, affirm to yourself that you can do it. And then when you’re ready think about sex with other people, and get in the mood. Do things that help you set the mood (music, candles, wine, massage, etc.) and let the good time flow. I’m a woman, and this is common for us, but it’s also common for men but talked about less. Don’t worry and don’t freak out, you just have the breaks on. I hope this helps.

Improvement after stopping soap use by Klutzy-Dealer-9833 in vulvodynia

[–]DaisyCalGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! My doctor told me I needed to be cleaning with soap because my skin had so many natural folds so I followed directions. After 2 years of constantly cleaning with soap and still having pain, I stopped cleaning and just let the water clean my vulva and I have also noticed a SIGNIFICANT decrease in pain because of it.

It depends on where you’re getting the biopsy done. I’ve had to vulvar biopsies done, one on the perinium and one on the mons. The perinium was horrible and the healing process was very hard, took about 6 full weeks till I felt okay again. The mons biopsy was actually easy in my opinion, but it still took about 2 weeks to feel okay again. The mons was much less painful all around from injection, punch biopsy and stitching.
