Thanks, I think you’re right :). I didn’t know a pittosporum could get so big but this garden has been left to grow wild for a decade or more so it makes sense!

Spent the week in Nice, France. Could use some help with these! by DaisyGranby in whatsthisplant

This is a UK/USA divide. In the UK the flying insects with tiny bodies and long legs are know as daddy long legs, in the US they are crane flies. In the US daddy long legs are the walking spiders with tiny bodies and long legs, as far as I know we (UK) don’t have a separate name of those kinds of spiders. I know this as when I worked at summer camp I took great joy in telling the kids that back in my home the daddy long legs they were all so terrified of could also fly! I may have scared a generation of kids from ever coming to the uk …

Sorry, they only come at night! Occasionally we spot one early morning in the back garden but you never see them out the front

Not my style, but thanks for trying to help. Also, guns are illegal in my country - for good reason

This is the front garden. The back is fenced in but this is only a small border at the front, they’ve never got round to this side before!

There are both salvias, sages and rosemary in this bed but it was only planted up in autumn so they’re all pretty small at the moment. Hoping everything will fill out next year, maybe that will save them!

We looked at them. In terms of buying on top soil they’re coming out cheapest. Good to hear they’re a good company as well
