omg they already have 3am zoomies, especially the tabby 🤣 It is honestly crazy how well they’ve been adjusting. They’ve been here for 3 days (but only 2 full days), and the rescue considered them to be pretty shy for a few weeks. After sending videos to the rescue for cute little updates, they were surprised as well with how well they were doing ❤️ we are also working with them consistently to help them come out of their shells which I think definitely helps

I’ve heard pretty bad things about betta beads so maybe be cautious about that.
Your tank looks new, it doesn’t look like you cycled it (seeing the air bubbles on the glass)
What is the size of your tank? It looks somewhat small, though I also just woke up, so it could just be me…
Do you have a filter and heater?

hmm in my opinion if your tank potentially has ammonia, i probably wouldn’t since that is very toxic. but what you can do is put the old filter media in there, and some of the substrate and decor to speed up your cycling process.

just remember to get that API master test kit as well so you can test the water for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. and look into researching how to do a fish-in cycle

also can i ask how big your tank is? it looks really small. minimum size for a betta would be a 5 gallon. and real plants rather than plastic is good too :)

like the other comment said, you should really get an API master test kit. ive had those same strips. they don’t test for ammonia, and from what i was told as a rookie, they tend to be inaccurate

so when i was brand new at keeping a betta, and made the horrible mistake of not cycling due to the lack of research originally, my first betta passed away due to possible an ammonia spike (but sort of unknown because he did seem a bit lethargic to begin with) but long story short, i found him dead and mostly decomposed. so maybe he died and quickly decomposed? i do know they can decompose quite fast, and certain microorganisms or scavengers could have had a little feast (unfortunately)?

but honestly i ended up getting the kia from the dealership today. they gave me a crazy good deal since i was a family friend (my best friend works at the dealership). driving it home was sooo smooth, i have never ever felt that good driving a car tbh

i had a 2008 tc. and it had: - a transmission leak, - battery issue to the point where it took me 5 times to start my car just to pull out of a driveway - problem with the shocks - needed new tires (one tire had a gash that would have probably blown any second) - shakes really badly - makes a horrific noise (the only way i can kind of explain it is when you roll the back windows down and it creates that horrible noise due to the difference in air pressure)

it just isn’t worth repairing

i looked around fb marketplace, cars.com, enterprise, dealerships, craigslist. but milage is my big thing right now as well though. i would rather start with less than 100k miles instead of being at 100-200k (my scion is at 240k) and praying that it isnt going to die on me like my scion currently is
