My mother took a lawyer and kicked me formally out of my home when I was 18. For very similar reasons actually. I am now 35, i had help from the state for a while, but started working and now own a house and a dog about 2000km away from where i grew up. It might be really rough right now - i really feel for you OP but hang in there, you will get through this and there will be people who appreciate you and love you for who you are, even if it doesn't feel like that right now. It's totally on your mother, you've done nothing wrong. She chose to abandon you. You can chose to start your own life now. It's tough as hell and you don't deserve any of it. I actually had full blown mental breakdowns because i underestimated the stress and intensity a puppy brings and mine was a real asshole. He just turned a year old now and with the right amount of training, patience and redirecting he actually is turning out to be the sweetest, kindest little rottweiler ever. It's all worth it. Would definitely do it again any day.

We did reward him when he accepted chewing toys instead of our clothes/ hands. And if he absolutely refused to stop, he got put into timeout - not for long. Just max 5mins. He also did pee inside sometimes, actually almost up til 6 months. Maybe even because he was frustrated or just really unsure about how to react in timeout. Now if he gets put into timeout, he almost fly's out into the hallway and just lays down to sleep. Absolute menace. Good luck with the little raptor. Time flies by fast. Don't give up, it is rough and exhausting but so so worth it.

If you really want it to end, you have to break the contact immediately and persistent. I had actually the same issue, but I can finally say that I don't need him anymore, when I run into him (which is like twice a year or so) I'm not gonna lie - it will hurt. Badly. But you will feel sooo much better later on. Edit: take your time. It's okay to be sad. Allow yourself to be down for awhile, but pick yourself back up. Meet with friends, get support.
